Installing Mods

I am currently attempting to learn how to install mods on Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries.

I know nothing of how to do this.

I downloaded one that will, apparently let me use the MadCat, but when I click apply in my menu mods list, it doesn't appear in my mech list in game.

How does one go about doing this mod thing? Keep in mind, I may need a very basic step by step process quoted to me. I know how to play games. But I am kind of illiterate at the whole mods and programming thing.

1. subscribe in steam workshop
2. start game
3. go into mod menu item
4. select mod
5. agree that you want to add
6. exit game
7. restart
8. enjoy

Assuming not a workshop mod, you literally just put the unzipped folder into your mods folder in the MW5 directory, and if a mods folder does not exist, make one.
