FAILED TO CONNECT, CROSSPLAY COOP
about 20 hours into a campaign with a buddy, all of a sudden we cannot connect for coop.

I'm on steam, theyre on xbox-- nothing has changed with respect to our platforms, network, installed files.

Zero error codes. Zero events logged (on windows). No leads to follow. Not sure what else to do.

Anyone else have a suddenly broken product on their hands?

Most I can produce is a: "Failed to connect to host" notification in the corner of my screen if I try connecting to their game-- which is the opposite of how we had be playing, however the connection now fails to connect in both directions.

Have vpns in use? Verified your game data? Try clearing your cache? I don't really play coop so not much experience with it in mw5, but those are usual suspects with crossplay I've seen with regards to UE based games with crossplay being shoddy at times.

no vpns, verified multiple times, nuked the cache, full reinstall, etc. I've given up, thanks for trying to help though.

Not sure how your buddy would confirm what version the game is running on the xbox, likely under the game info in the storage section. Verify that both your games are the same version. If they are different you should be able to swap to the matching version they are running under the game manager > betas
I know it sounds odd but who knows, maybe his game borked or there was an issue with fetching version info on the xbox, s happens.
If for some reason the xbox is on a different version. Hopefully you can get it sorted out, but that's all I can think of atm short of general network problems between isp / hub.
A friend and I can not connect to play co-op either. Game states it it in offline mode. Can not even load the co-op menu. Says failed to connect.

Usual suspects -
Tried verifying game files?
Clearing download cache?
Verified network settings are configured properly "Crossplay enabled in settings / Firewalls / etc?
Verified correct versions match?
VPN in use?
Mods being used?
Having details oh what's been tried / looked at is a good place to start with providing information.

Else there's always contacting support since PGI isn't known for frequenting discussion boards in general.

Nah, same version. I tried pushing some of the beta builds too but nothing. Thanks for trying though.

The worst part of all this is that I have a background to fix this ♥♥♥♥, but there's zero logged events, no error codes, no trace trace to follow so I'm just stuck with a broken product. Do I tear the process apart and start watching for individual method calls? Not worth the time.

I feel that, trying to diag network problems these days is hit or miss, and sometimes I just give up entirely compared to early 2k's. 4 years of college is outdated the next year haha and since transitioning careers I'm so out of touch fundamentally anymore searching for solutions as well instead of just knowing what fixes what.
