Mechwarrior, as a name in reference to Battletech, can actually refer to multiple things.
In the context of this thread, it would just be the name of the 1st person video game franchise, based in the Battletech universe (as opposed to all the other video games).
But it's also the name of the;
1. pilots within the mechs.
2. RPG game ruleset played within Battletech tabletop game (at least up to 3rd edition before it was renamed, probably to avoid confusion with the video game & the clix game at that point).
3. Collectible clicks game from WizKids based on Battletech (one could argue this was technically a spinoff, but we don't talk about this one).
In any case, even in Japan, Battletech was still called Battletech. But they completely changed most/all the images in it to the point that it is completely unrecognizable from the normal game.
It really more depends on your build and loadout just like every other Armored Core game. Should also note that ACV/Verdict Day were more throwbacks to the Gens 1 to 3 before 4/For Answer decided to go full blown Gundam/Macross (which is why Gen 4 and 5 are my absolute favorites in the Armored Core series, storytelling wise).
It was definitely ahead of its time. If a modern game like it released on PC, with that kind of multiplayer world, it would probably be very popular.
Why will people NOT let the dead lay peacefully
What is the problem with my post lmfao ?
Comparing two mechas games is such an incredible thing ? Because they are different ? Isn't it the goal of comparison ? Comparing different things of the same category ?
btw if you don't like my post why the hell do you come to post here to say nothing while others are discussing ? lol
Mw5 is where you’re a mercenary with highly customizable mechs in a science fiction setting.
Ac6 is where you’re a mercenary with highly customizable mechs in a science fiction setting.
Completely different…
