Hows the online numbers of players? Is this still played or will I be waiting for ages to get 1 match???
I've never played these MechWarrior games before but always wanted to get into them.

Also, is there any news on a new MW game yet??

So I take it with coop, you can't allow someone into your hanger and stay with them for multiple missions? They instead just drop into one of your free mechs when preparing for a battle?

Thanks, been meaning to ask about this for a while. I think coop in this game could be good, but it wouldn't hold much appeal to me if I couldn't actually do a campaign with someone.

What!? How did you even arrive at this conclusion??? You can play Campaign, Career and even Instant Action in co-op and your buddies are free to run around with you in the Leopard's hangAr... not that there is much sense or usefulness to that. You can also allow your lads to access the mechlab and modify any mechs they want; with a certain mod they can even access the shops in the industrial hubs.

Btw, co-op is available at ANY POINT - you just load your desired save file and can go on from there.

slight correction it's available at any point in career. in campaign you have to wait until after you get your second pilot. this will almost never come up I don't think but worth noting.

Many people prefer different things and are usually silent about it. I dare you to find at least 5 examples of people explicitly using phrases like the ones you've made up here. However, the one about "play MWO for multiplayer"... that's true, though, is it not? MW5 is co-op only so there's no PvP, and that's what most people ask when they don't know. Besides, you're defeating your own argument about MWO in the next sentence... huh!? So far you've successfully built a couple of strawmen and defeated them, bravo 👏

Multiplayer doesn't mean PvP, multiplayer doesn't mean matchmaking, it means playing the game with other people. MW5 has multiplayer, you don't need to play something else to get it. I know you aren't going to read this but I will point out anyway that everyone saying play MWO on this thread said play that for PVP. they did not say if you want multiplayer play MWO. they specifically said PVP and in one case matchmaking. you have managed to simultaneously display a complete and total lack of reading comprehension and tried to call other people idiots at the same time. I'd give you a clown award if that didn't actually give you steam points.

Steam isn't an accurate way of getting said numbers though, because it counts people WITH the game open, not just playing it, so if someone's just sitting at the menu yeah Steam's going to count them, there's a reason why TF2 got exposed for having an inflated playercount because Steam was counting the bots as well.

it's free to play, and has one of the better models for free to play. you never have to spend money on anything, and you tend to get "paid" rewards from monthly events very well.

the only thing that only money can buy in MWO are newly released mechs, and those get demoted to being buyable with premium currency 6 months after they release.

and yes, premium currency is something you commonly get from events.

last time i played mwo(years ago) repair times for mechs were based off real time so if your mech got wrecked in a match it took hours even days for it to repair unless you used preium curreny idk what it is now.

you are right that OP didn't ask about PvP but using this handy dandy feature called reading to figure out that people walking about MWO specifically suggested it if OP did want PvP. as it would happen saying if you want thing x try game y does not imply that the person was specifically asking for that. as it would happen you are allowed in an open forum to give people information that is actually fairly on topic unsolicited and indeed may be helpful if they actually were looking for an online experience that has matchmaking.

That sound amazing honestly. Most active players have 100+ mechs. It is just makes players use them all. Or support the game.

it really wasn't amazing. it made getting bad games worse because you can't even try again in the same mech. imagine losing your locust for hours or days at a time because a single shot rocket launcher build one shot killed you after you turned a corner near the start of the round.
