I don't think I'm crazy
I was sure I saw some jump jet style things that said they increased a mech's forward speed. I can't seem to find them in my inventory now, and Sarna doesn't list them in Mech Equipment that I could find. Were they a glitch?

Not an attack, but maybe you didn't see it in the inventory, but in the improvements... if you have already "unlocked" it. Or the improvements you can still earn?:steiner:

If you're talking about the upgrade in the Cantina, that is a thing, but no, there were equipable items it seemed like, which I found in a store inventory selling 'rare equipment'

The only stuff that can "increase mech's speed" is a supercharger or MASC. They are relatively rare, but pop up in black markets more often, and MASC becoming available only far into the future chronologically.

That sounds like YAML stuff.

Yes, that was my first thought. But there was something about Jump Jets

Found one again, and it's called a Supercharger, they come in variants I-V, which are compatible with 'Motive Upgrade Slots' on the same sizes of mechs in tons as Jumpjets.

ah, ok. sry no experience with these parts, never used them. I've always settled this through the improvements

Yeah, it's just a pity that so few mechs can make use of those systems. It's really sad that they never did Canteena upgrades that would allow you to add a motive upgrade slot, ecm, enhanced sensor system, and AMS slots to mechs.

That's what the mods are for (YAML). In the vanilla game you can't install something like that because of lore and balancing reasons.

havent used a supercharger, but i have used MASC. that one functions like a "sprint" button that will generate heat the longer you use it.

Supercharger is a low tech version of MASC. I think it's basically just heavier and doesn't provide as much boost speed but I cannot say I ever actually installed one.

Ah, now I know why I put that stuff out of my head. Costs weight and may damage the mech

My thing was less about their use, and I KNOW I bought them but they weren't in my inventory anymore, which is weird. The one I bought last time is still there. Checked it, and yeah, these things and the MASC's have VERY few Mechs they work in.
