How to acquire the Dragon DRG-1G-S?
Anyone know how to acquire this variant of the Dragon from Dragon’s Gambit? It’s listed as a “quest reward” according to the Wiki, but I don’t see it’s listed as being given in any of the Dragon’s Gambit Missions.

It's available in the market on Vega during the Dragon's Gambit campaign. Otherwise, there's a chance it'll spawn as a rare mech spawn in markets.

The question should be - How NOT to acquire the Dragon-1G-S. its a Dragon - a 'Grand' Dragon and a 60 tonner - 3 strikes and your out.

Indeed, but I have it now. I'm collecting every Mech, all I have is the Dragon's Gambit stuff left.

Does this mean all the Dragon's Gambit special mechs are available on the open market, even if you don't play through the DG-specific campaign?

This would be great for my post-3050 careers. It'd mean I wouldn't have to make a new career just to try out these mechs. That, and the fact that I already own most rare mechs by now, so it'd be guaranteed to show up quickly.

All of the Otomo mechs should be in the rare mech pool and have a chance of spawning, yes. And I don't think the rare mechs care if you already own one or not, that only applies to the Hero mech spawns.

Oh, right, my mistake. I conflated the two. I own the vast majority of heroes, and I erroneously thought the Otomo variants would be treated as a hero and not a rare (despite what I wrote above, I meant 'hero' when I wrote 'rare').

If they're rares, that'll make finding them a bit more difficult since it's a much larger pool that never decreases, but the main thing is that I don't have to play through the campaign.

There's also the advantage of rares being able to make a whole lance of a given type. So that opens up quite a few possibilities. For example, I currently use four Cyclops as my 'fast' cavalry assault lance, but the Otomo BattleMaster is a good candidate to replace at least some of those, just for the extra striking power of a PPC (while still retaining the LB10X that all the Cyclops use in my lance).

I'm collecting all of the BattleMechs myself, only missing the Longbow HS and Longbow 7Q now.
