Never. At least not in MechWarrior 5. Maybe in Mechwarrior 6.

I think it's a difficult concept to fit into a game without resorting to old linear style due to how big of an event it was and that it has a historical timeline. I'd like to see a clan space game that has nothing to do with the inner sphere. Before the invasion.

Hopefully never. Clans were the worst game breaking thing to ever come to the Battletech world.

There are plenty of mods that add them to the game.
And while I have a lot of nostalgic love for them (MW2 was my intro to the franchise) I agree with kkeaffer above.

Time to repeat myself again! PGI have mentioned before in the past that they are interested in implementing the clans, HOWEVER they will not be doing so in Mech5 as they feel a DLC would not be the right way to implement them.

Russ has stated in a podcast with NGNGtv that there is another Mechwarrior game currently in development and that more information would come this Autumn on the game. All we know is that it will be another single player and co-op focused game like Mech5.

Most likely they'll just build off their existing game and make something like MW5: Ham and Eggs
Evidence though so far based on the current MW5 Editor is that we are looking more at FedCom Civil War.

I mean no disrespect with this or my prior post.
But I really hope they never mix it with IS tech.
If only because it completely removes any reason to USE IS tech, unless they do a better job of applying lore values (IE Clan tech is RARE - only one factory for the TBR models during the invasion) which would piss people off...
Or do a better job of balancing the in game budgets (which would piss people off for the same reason)

Edit:
And given that (as an example, and to my knowledge) the only people in the IS during MW5's time period that should have ANY ANH models are the Wolf's Dragoons....?

You are correct, outside of Battlefield salvage, Annihilators are Wolf Dragoon exclusive in the IS till 3049.

I like them, they have better weapons and modern look. Timberwolf is my favorite mech. No other IS mech can fit same weapons and be that fast.

Yeah but the people who pilot them wear diapers.

according to lore wolfs dragoons took alot of SLDF variants/clan variants when they were ordered to go scout the inner sphere and when they decide to use them in combat they strip the sldf/clan tech and run with IS tech the Imp is a great example of this wolfs dragoons smuggled one of these from their clans reserves/storage(what ever) and was seen being used during their campaign on Misery albiet with IS tech rather then sldf/clan tech

Think you mean the Stone Rhino, Imp's were way more common in the Wolf Dragoons.

My point was, that a lot of stuff that was supposed to be (semi) balanced by rarity....
Isn't all that much in the videogames. Any of them.
Edit:
And the bulk of feedback doesn't WANT it balanced that way (if at all)

pretty sure it was the Imp but point being there was a few mechs they were forbidden to take into the inner sphere but they smuggled them on to their warships anyways

Point still stands that most of the ubetstrong stuff (like the Timberwolf) are RARE....
And the "fans" want to field a full lance of them with a generic nobody mercenary company, getting offended at being told it was uncommon, let alone RARE.
