Managing damage during the first 3 missions?
I'm struggling to get through the first few missions since my mech keeps getting beat up. Repairs take 1-2 weeks but time doesn't elapse between the end of one mission and the start of the next.

Is there any way to actually repair it quickly or do I have to start over again and baby the mech through each mission?

You need to be more specific: First three missions of what?

If you have a mech in your lance with active repair order, you should be prompted "do you want to fast forward x days" when trying to start a mission. Alternatively, the "timeline" button on the home screen lets you fast forward to any of the events.
If you are in the middle of a "multiple mission" contract, you can't fast forward, but you can rotate the roster and do limited repairs on mechs you aren't using, because each mission has a duration itself. Say the duration is 6 days, then time would elapse by 6 days as soon as you finish that mission.

Pro tip, don't stand still when getting shot at.

You want to stay mobile, especially so in the first two missions because you are using a light mech called the Javelin. Moving makes it harder for the enemy to hit you.

As for repairs, to repair your Javelin I'm sure you know you have to issue the repair order first in the mechlab. Then afterwards on the main screen you should see a "Timeline" button. You can skip forward to make events like repairs and other things happen.

Reason I asked is I'm not sure if OP is talking about the main campaign or Rise of Rasalhague.

If you are using YAML reduce the vtol, turret and tanks stats to 1 as they have all been buffed to x3. Also toggle off the accuracy that mod gives them. Can scale up later when you get on your feet. If not using YAML, gonna have to start applying some tactics. its tough but its doable. use cover to reduce incoming fire to one unit at a time or funnel them into kill zones for easy kills. out range if you can etc etc etc.

If you're talking about the first 3 campaign missions, you can just wait between missions. If you start a work order, you shouldn't even be able to start the mission until your mechs are repaired. Otherwise go to the main screen, hit Timeline and wait until your mech is repaired.

At some point you will want to carry spare mechs (despite the extra costs) in order to take proper advantage of multiple missions on same planet. This cuts down your logistical $ spend enormously. You pay a lot more in the bills, but each planet is far, far more profitable since you finish all of the missions before moving for repairs.
