I never truly finished the mission simply because I can't bring myself to lose those lvl 5 weapons I love so much for no good reason other than sheer numbers thrown your ass nonstop.
Too many enemy mechs spawning on top of each other and really no strategy working. No place to take cover, dropships coming in every directions.
Also not enough time to repair even a red armor, no good mechs on sale. And it hits in 3034.
Basically you are forced to cheese with M Laser meta headpops, or import a modded campaign with a lot of clan stuff that completly makes zero sense in 3034, and even more less from a merc company.
I enjoyed very much Kestrel Lancers Campaign, was hard but rewarding and doable with efforts and preparations on a fresh start. With Rasalhague they went nuts. The last three missions are beyond insanity. Hey, behold my eight mechs "lance" that sorround you from everywhere on top of cliffs - Hey, you think you re done with an half scrapped mech but now get this 11 enemies drop for FUN
Here they expect you to have an entire reinforced battalion of mechs at the ready, nvmd the new hangar bay costs eating you up. XD
I guess enemy number up is the only way PGI can make missions challanging
Sure, it's not the only way they got.
But it's clearly the only way they are willing to go.
I wish they would continue to make more campaigns like this.
I think something people are missing is that they very much expected you to have more than 12 mechs available (I was fielding 18 when I started the campaign I believe) https://www.reddit.com/r/Mechwarrior5/comments/10efs08/starting_over_what_year_will_rise_of_rasalhague/j4uaspk/
