If you're incapable of challenging yourself without silly nonsensical systems, you are the one who needs training wheels.
Since money is abundant and salvage reduction scale quite generously, you can go over the limit quite comfortably if you wanted to
Also, it's not just an arbitrary number, it's based off battle difficulty. Sending 4 Assaults to a 15 difficulty mission wouldn't be fun nor balanced. If you want higher tonnage, seek out more difficult missions...
That would be funny.
Yea tonnage limits are dumb and lazy. Imagine if they did a little more mission optioning with units that have actual smart AI.
But no they said lets just limit them. I mean there ship can carry 16 mechs in 4 bays plus a cargo hold to hold dozens more. Why not say ok you cant have a few of the machines you paid to build and tweek. Because. Um idk fairness. Chivalry. Fake challenge.
Its sad when training wheel mods bring more immersion than the basic game.
If you want no limits just fight 90+ areas. There easier than most 60's anyway.
Besides, lance synergy is way more important than total weight, it actually is a puzzle game.
I mean, if it's already late game for you and you have 12 assault mechs in bay and 500 million c-bills in the bank, the over-tonnage penalty in low difficulty zones become negligible
Send 4 assaults on an 8 difficulty mission if you want. You won't even feel the -95% payout penalty because the payout was peanuts anyway
