tonnage limits, please remove
it just feels like an arbitrary number to limit progression. it sucks and to make it worse, the mod thats supposed to fix it does not work. can anyone point to/show me how to remove it? it doesnt make sense as to why it is there, its offputting mid-late game when u can't field decent mechs becasue the game just says "no" for no reason

Or just get used to the limit being there for campaign missions, its really not that hard and being able to just deploy nothing but four 100 ton Assault mechs isn't as remotely fun as you think it is!

You will find such training wheel mods on workshop and nexus.

If you're incapable of challenging yourself without silly nonsensical systems, you are the one who needs training wheels.

not sure if you understood part of what i wrote, the mod on workshop that is for removing the limit doesn't actually work anymore, hence why im asking if anybody has a work around

there is more than one way to get a challenge from the game, a random made up limit on what i can field, limiting me from reaping benefits of late game builds, is not what i call rewarding. this isnt a puzzle game

"Can't field decent mechs because the game just says no" Sounds like you need to build better mechs

Oh no - it's the tonnage limit :steamfacepalm:

Technically, you can already surpass the tonnage limit... You'll just get a payout penalty. It's not as hard locked as with Mech Commander and Battletech

Since money is abundant and salvage reduction scale quite generously, you can go over the limit quite comfortably if you wanted to

Also, it's not just an arbitrary number, it's based off battle difficulty. Sending 4 Assaults to a 15 difficulty mission wouldn't be fun nor balanced. If you want higher tonnage, seek out more difficult missions...

Sending assault mechs to kill scout mechs..... Not fun. Not funny. This is the Inner Sphere baby. I would send an entire battalion to kill a rogue locust XD
That would be funny.
Yea tonnage limits are dumb and lazy. Imagine if they did a little more mission optioning with units that have actual smart AI.
But no they said lets just limit them. I mean there ship can carry 16 mechs in 4 bays plus a cargo hold to hold dozens more. Why not say ok you cant have a few of the machines you paid to build and tweek. Because. Um idk fairness. Chivalry. Fake challenge.
Its sad when training wheel mods bring more immersion than the basic game.
If you want no limits just fight 90+ areas. There easier than most 60's anyway.
Missions are generally designed so you can do them with half the allowed tonnage without much trouble.

Besides, lance synergy is way more important than total weight, it actually is a puzzle game.

Also, low difficulty missions are just not worth the time once your reputation goes past a certain level. It's more cost-effective to travel to a high rep, high difficulty zone than take every contract in an easy zone unless you're rep farming

I mean, if it's already late game for you and you have 12 assault mechs in bay and 500 million c-bills in the bank, the over-tonnage penalty in low difficulty zones become negligible

Send 4 assaults on an 8 difficulty mission if you want. You won't even feel the -95% payout penalty because the payout was peanuts anyway

*sigh* Another thread complaining about the tonnage limit. If the game imposes a 230 ton limit in a mission that means you'll be facing mainly medium and light mechs with the possibility of a heavy or two in a mission. So that limit is in place to make you field a tonnage similar to what you'll be facing in the mission. So yes it makes sense. If you don't want to abide by the limit then field your Steiner scout lance of 400 tonnes and pay the C-Bill and Salvage penalties. Otherwise play missions more suitable to the mechs you have.

Steiner scout lance says otherwise.
