Well, I owe you a drink my friend. I wonder how someone found that?
I am aware of that, by "melee crap" i mean the weapons.
Understood. But no, NOT anyone can do this. As far as I can tell, (correct me if I am wrong) you still need an access code to download the previous version. I have tried your suggestion, for this update and during previous updates as well, and could not download the BETA because i did not have the access code.
Unless I am doing something wrong, the option that you describe is, for all practical purposes, not available.
Ok, I just tested this myself. All you have to do is click the drop down where it says "NONE" and select the version you want. Afterwards steam will automatically start downloading. The Access Code box is for games that do require the code, MW5 does not. Don't know what to say if you can't get it to work.
OK. I did that, and this time stayed away from the ACCESS CODE button...
...Now what?
There should be an <enter> or "OK" button, but I don't see it. I haven't seen any download activity nor has the BETA game popped up in my library. It's just sitting there doing nothing.
Also, how long does this typically take.
It's downloading something now.
If this is the earlier version, I assume I should play this off-line to avoid automatic update.
Thanx for helping me out with this.
Glad you were able to get the Beta rollback to work. If you ever want to go back to the current version of the game just go to the drop down under Betas again and select "None", that should queue a download to revert your game back to the current live version.
I tried to go back and do it, using the steps you provided earlier. No-go. Is there a limit to the number or frequency of roll back downloads...
...belay my last. You say "select none"? Previous you said "where it says select none". Before that, I HAD selected "none" but nothing seemed to happen. Then I tried it again without selecting anything and it seemed to work - when in fact it was selecting "none" that had launched the download... ...misconstruing cause and effect. Bad timing.
OK. I'm now trying it again. Thanx.
Thanx again.
Right now, I have to let MW5 update itself again so I can activate steam subscriptions again. I saved my previous modlist.json file along with my previous nexus mods, but it appears that you have to have steam (and the game) on-line to re-register the subscriptions in the game mod list, and it won't do that without updating the game first. The problem here is that with the the current update, some of the steam mods cause to game to crash when launching the game, BEFORE you get to the main menu, so I'm not sure it can even be done - which is why I say that it may require nexus mods only, to do it.
In any case, once I work out all the details, I plan to document the process step by step and post it here for the benefit of other's who are having the same problem... ...and, if you don't object, I will provide appropriate credit for your help in this matter.
Thanx again.
