Sounds like you've got the 6R which is pretty meh. The 6K and 6M offer better loadout options but never been a fan of the Wolverine myself.
And it is basically sitting on the edge of medium/heavy, which can be quite awkward in terms of armor. Walks away with my 55t SRM24 Dervish
not even YAML can give it the glow-up it sorely needs
That shoulder is a pretty big target, so based on that, I simply refuse to use it.
Sorry, I don't understand your meaning.
Lore says "The technology wouldn't resurface in the Inner Sphere until 3035, when it was rediscovered by the Lyran Commonwealth. "
Some Players refuse to field Mechs that can't boat medium lasers, some refuse to go out without 3+ srm racks.
It's firepower versus battlefield versatility.
The Wolverines are latter and while i agree that the 6R is a bit s**t in MW5 due to it's hardpoints, the 6M and 6K can be turned into good, speedy brawler mechs.
Shadowhawk 2H and the Wolverine 6R are 2 examples of mechs that you should avoid, if you can get anything else instead.
Lorewise a Wolverine would rather jump around and ambush you or try to outflank you to get into your back, while a Centurion or Hunchback is meant to fight first line and take it straight. The 6K kuritan Wolverine is the exception, because it's missing it's Jumpjets and fielding max armor instead. (turning it into a better Dragon imho)
I guess that you wouldn't give the new Ham Wolf ruler on Terra a warm welcome then in 3151? :D
Battletech is either classic 3025 or Dark Age for me.
Catalyst turned the Lyrans and Mariks into a cesspool of rotten sausage after 3140-51 in the Lore, i won't forgive them that kind of butchery in favor of the Hams!
Right now we need to get on how the Wolverine is a pansy Mech for Davion sissys!
a "real" mechwarrior isn't going to conflate star league and clan tech, as those tech bases have about as much in common as star league and 3025-era tech does
