Installing Nexus Mods

Which folder can I install mods from Nexus into to get them working on Steam?

The file directory recommended by all the Mod descriptions on Nexus - i.e. C:\Program Files\Epic Games\MW5Mercs\MW5Mercs\Mods - doesn't seem to have any equivalent with the Steam version.

Mods don't currently work with the Steam version of the game. There will be a patch that'll address this though. The developers said as much, but haven't given a date.

It would be Steam\steamapps\common\MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries\MW5Mercs\Mods though...if it worked.

Lame. Well, I guess I'll just have to wait a bit. Vanilla game seems to be a bit too rough to be worth messing around with.

It can be challenging at times, but I'm having fun with it.

SOME mods work. The stuff on the Workshop, if you can find it, definitely does and I know for a fact that at least one mod on Nexus still works.

Anything really high level is going to have to be updated though.

Should be Steam\steamapps\common\MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries\MW5Mercs\Mods

If you can't find it, launch the game, open the 'Mods' menu from the main menu, and press 'E'

Virtually every mod uploaded or updated after May 28th (sort by "Last Updated") works just fine, for ALL versions of the game. Also, everything (afaik) currently uploaded to the Steam Workshop works, you just need to manually dig through Valve's website till you actually get at the listings.

i can confirm this....
i currently have just over a dozen nexus mods working alongside some from the steam workshop.
easiest way to get to steam workshop is goto your library....look at mw5 clik on discussions then the workshop tab form there.
there are new mods and old mods being updated almost daily since launch on steam
all of the ones ive seen on steam are also on nexus

We are waiting on microsoft approval of the patch.
If it passes you can expect it in 1-4 days from now.

Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\784080 Is where my Steam mods are stored. I was able to get MW5 to Recognize the presence of a mod that I was trying to install by editing
Steam\steamapps\common\MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries\MW5Mercs\Mods\modlist.json

When I tested it out, the mod was clearly active, but it was also non-functional. (It adds a button that lets you save mech configs, but all I got was a benign error.) I'm currently testing other mods out to see how they fare.

I was incorrect. Copy the whole mod folder into:
\Steam\steamapps\common\MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries\MW5Mercs\Mod
and hope that it works with the steam version.

It does. In fact, after having done so, I posted this already, four months ago.
