Does co-op grant any rewards for those not hosting?
Seems like co-op isn't really good at giving players incentives...

That's poor implementation. co-op partner games do not progress and they get nothing out of it... only the host. That's pretty bad.

To answer your Discord message, since you figured playing the "my opinion is really important so I'll say it everywhere till the game gets changed to what I want" thing as many places as possible would make it more important:

So, are there really no rewards for people who join in on co-op?
No. You share the gameplay experience, not fat l00t.

No real incentives to help your friends if your game just sits on "pause" forever and you get nothing out of it :/
Just leave the game my guy. No one's holding you hostage in the host's game.

It's alright - you are a mechcommander and your partners are your lancemates.

Their pilot skills improve over time and they can play with their mech builds, while you find new missions and take them there.

you need an incentive to get people to play coop with you? that's rough.

The reward is playing something I enjoy with my wife.

This isn't a loot hoarding coop dungeon crawler, you're a commander everyone else is a lance mate, that's it. It's called MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries for a reason, you're mercenaries, in a lance. The lance is facilitated by a commander, they run the show.

This isn't meant to be a Borderlands, Warframe or Destiny clone. This isn't PoE where you stash tab after tab of loot and currency. You all win or you all lose, as a mercenary outfit, failing and succeeding is a group affair with this game. The intended aim of the game is to enjoy stockpiling equipment and 'mechs accrued as a lance over time, cooperatively, not as an individual.

Edit: 3 words

Exactly. The focus of coop in this is playing together, not cranking out levels or grinding money or loot on your "main" character, the only main character is the commander/host.

It's friggin rad, get practice on someone else's dime and get to laugh at each other when one of you gets urbied

I don't understand why people are hating on OP.
It is very unusual for a game to partly give progression to some players, and not to others.

For those saying "you shouldn't need a incentive to play", that's your prerogative, but it's not an unreasonable expectation. The Dev themselves give incentive to play. The host gets progression / rewards.

You literally get everything you and the host earn together.... you are playing together, you both can use the stuff, you can pick up where you left off. I seriously dont get these threads.

This happened to me the other day, we thought it was terribly funny until I got the 2 million repair bill.

There's really no reason co-op partners can't get some sort of c-bill reward for their saves. It really wouldn't be a big deal.

agree with both sides of the argument, friends who join co-op should at least make c-bills....

maybe the modding community can solve this problem

getting literally nothing is really bad, that sounds like giving a guest key to your friends but they still have to buy the game, stupid implementation.
