Just fyi on coop players and customization
I see alot of people who dont seem to understand that the coop players can customize the hosts mechs.

The host has to give them permissions to do so from the social options menu first.

I do hope this starts to catch on because it's everyone's big negative point they bring up first. It's not even an issue and that was solved before the Steam release.

There really needs to be a better way to explain this than word-of-mouth or counting on players to fiddle around with the menus (not many people would idly go to the player list just out of curiosity)

I was kind of hoping that the store page would have a little more details on the coop side of things, but sadly it doesn't give much details about the game what so ever.

This thread needs to be pinned. I had to ask my friend who was the host to customize my mech for me, telling him all sorts of details via discord, and he had to do that for 3 of us! Definitely a painful experience at least for the host. Will try this permission options, much appreciated for bringing this up.

No problem. I remember having to do this before they implemented that feature and it suuuucked haha.

There needs to be some sort of in-game tip or something to lead players to that option.

Don't forget the mod on the workshop !!! "Unlock Coop tabs"

allows your friends to see the map and a bunch of other stuff w/o really messing with your stuff, be aware tho.... friends can sell items, no worries with rl friends but if pick up coop .....

wait for real? We can allow people to mess with the loadouts and such?

When you say 'Customize their own mechs' do you mean I can join Dave's game with my own Marauder even if he doesn't have one? Or is it that I can refit Dave's mechs but cannot use my own?

Since before the Steam release, yes

No, that isn't customizing a mech, that's bringing your own. That's doesn't exist in-game. Though it's for good reason, you're not a freelancer, you're a commander or a lancemate.

there needs to be an option (when playing with real friends and family) and you want that true co-op experience, to allow them to do everything and see everything you the host can. I understand there is a lot more the others can do now, that were not available before the steam release. But all info on the start map should be able to be seen by everyone as well.

Edited and worded a bit better now.
Coop players can customize the hosts mechs.

coop players were able to make work orders before the Steam release, that wasn't added in this update.

It's an UI issue, easiest fix:

- Invite to game
- Invite to game AND permit MechLab Access.

Now you can invite someone and give him access at the same time.
