If I turn on raytracing - The FPS drops to 40fps.
If I put raytracing to the lowest level, I get 60fps.
The graphics optimisation of this game is trash. Very disappointing.
I had a 3090 and it did the exact same thing.

Damn good guide.
Use DSR Factor in NVIDIA global settings. Set AA in game to TXAA as it goes grainy without & qaulity didnt seem to matter what I chose so just set to low as there is no 'off.'
3070/5800x @ 1440p running at 60fps constantly. No idea what actual frames are as I capped at 60.
RTX is garbage turn it off.
Step 1: Turn off ray tracing.
Step 2: Turn on DLSS Quality.
Step 3: Enjoy 200+ fps and arguably better visuals than with RT on.
RT implementation in this game is a joke and should never have been added.
Sorry for necro and late reply but; that's normal behaviour. First off ray tracing is more demanding so its normal temperature goes up. Second, DLSS lowers internal resolution (aka makes your GPU render at lower resolution) and upscales using AI, therefore, it's normal that when using it your GPU stays cooler.
Fun fact, in 2023, game still runs like absolute garbage with ray tracing on, even on a 4090 at 3440x1440 i'm getting barely 60 fps.
There are also a few individuals out there that have gotten RTX to work smoothly with the game and it doesn't affect their machines and that's good for them. The majority of us, have issues with RTX and DLSS in Mech5 no matter what kind of machine we have.
RTX and DLSS has not - and never worked well for the majority of people - regardless of their system. RTX was added after MW5 was released and is a older (Beta) version. RTX has never gotten a update in MW5 and DLSS has had one update as I remember.
The issue with RTX in MW5 will be performance (Even on high end systems).
DLSS in MW5 has caused memory issues for some people in the past.
What RTX adds to MW5 (little) is not worth the issues that come with it (For Most).
Best bet is to turn RTX and DLSS off in game and in Geforce experience.
Even without RTX - MW5 does have some performance issue - adding big mods can make it worse.
I do not expect PGI to ever fix the RTX (Or even give options as to what features of RTX are enabled). Performance wise - PGI has done some work to improve - but the biggest improvement has come from the Xenopax- Optimize Mod.
The target consistent FPS for this title should be 60 FPS for most. Asking more than that - you may be giving yourself issues.
