That's the most likely reason. I'd check your mods and see which ones haven't been updated since DLC2, disable them, and see if the crashes continue.
Also if you are using RTX and/or DLSS you can pretty much expect possible performance and out of memory issues.

Its basically any mod that is changing "derived mech" that has not been brought in line with current version.
I've actually had an issue where the order the mods loaded caused a "fatal error" crash. moviing it below other mods fixed the fatal error.
I haven't tried the "online" version, or whatever. The one that pings the website to see if it's the latest version, etc. Anyone using that?
Its a very useful mod in my opinion, and like i said before it also allows profiles so you can run different mods for different saves easily if there are multiple mods you want to run but they conflict.
Not that I'll ever know. 4mbps DSL is not conducive to online play.
