Stock with ACs is made of paper - 12 armor + 16 structure on arms where main weapons are - say bye to those weapons every mission, with max armor you have very limited space.

Imho 4x light Rifle, 2x M Laser SB, 4x Heat Sinks, rest ammo. And you may do something with it, AI should be good.

I equipped it with only 4 AC/2 and lots of ammo. No lasers.

The total firepower is low but you can fire very, very fast and you never need to stop because of heat or anything. Also the AC/2 got a great range.

Scrap it - sell it for parts - its junk

Mine were max armor + AC/5 + AC/10. Not very good, but decent, considering I had no other heavies and only three mediums at the time.

As mentioned above, max the armour, then reduce a bit of head and leg armour to get back to an even amount. I liked 4xAC2 as well, definitely feels the most effective - long range damage over time, find a hill and focus on enemies from 700+m away when possible. Excellent against tanks and helicopters. Extra ammo and heat sinking over lasers is the best option. 2xAC10 is also possible, but doesn’t do as well in my opinion, and for that you do want a couple of lasers for turret/air defence.

haven’t tried rifles on one, but you have to make sure to get enough heat sinking if you do.

Nah.
It's only 18.7 heat per minute per one (t1). So 75 per minute for 4. So you need only 1.25 cooling for continuous fire.

4xAC/2 is impossible without serious armor sacrifice - you have only 1.5t left so 75 salvos, so 1 minute and 15 seconds of fire, so 600dmg at tier 1. (but 480DPM sounds impressive)

I think you were thinking about 'DD' variant that have Ferro-Fibrous armor and smaller engine - that one is actually useful and can do that with ~9.5t of free space with 4xAC/2 and max armor.

LightRifle(3t): 52.5DpM | 18.7HpM /Ammo per 1t 34rds = 238dmg
AC/2(6t): 120DpM | 2.4HpM / Ammo per 1t 200rds = 400dmg

Also I don't like too fast firing weapons that you have constantly keep target on aim.

Rifles or scrap it
You decide.

I go with AC/2-BF on all 4 ballistic slots.

With the highest weapon tier on chain fire, this build is a gatling gun that can easily take out air units and an excellent rear line fire support for your tankier mechs. And if you have extra tonnage, just add S-Laser just in case you get disarmed.
Empukris Jul 4, 2021 @ 3:17am
It is a good support for AC2 AI as they have pinpoint accuracy for vtol and tanks but suddenly become blind retarded when shooting mechs. How can you even miss that awesome??? Would still use warhammer over this thing.

Sell it.

If you can find it, you could also dip it into a pool of a lostech coolant known as "Red Bull"
Supposedly it helps the Jager with aerial mobility.

Sell them, they're absolutely useless. AI isn't going to have the self preservation to be effective with them, with the way the game works in terms of spawning enemies, how your AI follows you, you're always going to be taking the lion's share of the damage. Strip them of anything useful and just sell them.

In lore, the Jagermech is a fire support platform. That means it's not meant for, was not built for, and was never intended for front line combat - which is damn near all you do in MW5. The Jaegermech (and the Rifleman) are meant to be on exclusive anti-air duty while supporting other mechs, or taking pot shots at other mechs from behind the cover of their meat-shield allies. What they're not meant to do is close to 200 meters and start circle strafing until either you or the enemy explodes. That's why they're so under-armored, they were never intended to be brawlers or skirmishers.

And the problem is, is that the map does not do you any justice when ordering lancemates to move ahead of you. Wish the game has some sort of Tactical Map so that you can better position your team further ahead of you.
