SRM boat recommendations?
So I decided to start a new playthrough and tried other loadouts other than my favorite gauss setup, then found out the SRM boat works surprisingly well. I am currently using a Dervish with SRM24 and MASC, that's hell of a can opener, sometimes I could even score clean headshots with it (yeah, I finally get it why SRM is also a viable headshot weapon...)
The problem is, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to secure both of the mech's arm in a messy battle against multiple assault mechs, seems that this 55 tonne one cannot withstand enough fire above 85 difficulty contracts. So my question is: are there any recommendations for SRM boat that weights at least 70 tonne? (apart from Archer)

My ideal pick would be >70 tonne (so plenty of armor), >64 kph (>80 is better), 4 missile slot (for SRM6*4), and optional 4 energy slot (for finishing touch ofc). I am running Yet another Mechlab this playthrough, so I can swap out engine and attach MASC on it, however I wish it could be as light as possible since mech tonnage affects speed greatly (100 tonne mech with 380 engine is just 64kph)
Also for those helped me with "How 2 headshot" questions, thanks! Wish you could also give some insights on this SRM situation...

Stalker 3-F (iirc) might suit your specs: SRM 24 + lasers to warm them up :) edit: Slow, though.

The hero archer from the quest you get from the Heroes of the inner sphere DLC is amazing it has 6 missile hardpoints. You could also install Yet Another Mechlab (beta), Yet Another Weapon, Yet Another Weapon Clan, Lore-based Mech Variants YAML-Edition. These all add great depth to customization and mech variety, item become available base on the year in the timeline based on known lore.

The only thing you'll find remotely close to what you are asking for in game that isn't the Agincourt is the Cyclops 10-Q. That will be short a missile slot and laser slot though for what you are asking.

Alongside the Agincourt, Stalker and Cyclops 10q mentioned above, there’s the Battlemaster 1s, which can do SRM 18 plus 4 medium pulse lasers very successfully. It’s a really nice build to pilot.

If you are ok with a more mixed build, Orion YAJ does SRM 18 with three large energy slots (I like Large Chem Lasers for a good brawl build).

Not quite your asking specs but early through most of the mid game, I use a Kintaro SRM4x4. It's fast so can get around the back for a good backstab. Seems more tanky for me than the Dervish, and with SRM4's I can pack enough ammo for the longer missions. Two weapons groups so the arm mounted ones can do flyers or better yet, shoot down when you use superior speed to get in a good position.

There's they hardpoints but two more tons of ammo is better than two ML's I reckon.

I honestly forgot the Battlemaster 1S existed. Might be because of its intro date however.

As Maddermax mentioned, the Orion YAJ. My personal favorite. 3 T5 ER LL, 3 T5 SRM-6. You can reach out over a kilometer with the lasers (really great for Raids, against vehicles, VTOL's, for head-shooting, etc.) and up close start hammering away with the SRM's. It's not a pure SRM boat, and you need to load up on double heat sinks, but that mech is just a killer. I like it much better than the Agincourt, which is a one-trick pony.

The SRM36 Atlas is great. The unfortunate thing is that many of the fun combos in vanilla mechlab (maxed out Agincourt, KCG-CAR, anything with artillery pieces or Arrow IV in the arms) doesn't work.

I tried Cyclops yesterday and it worked out quite well. Seems that Yet another mechlab added 3 additional missile slot for it, so I got it SRM24+2*MLaser-SB+LLaser-SB(this is purely for sniping missile carrier up afar), swapped out engine for a XL 400, installed MASC and slapped a speed upgrade on it (82kph, slightly higher than stock Dervish), now I got another Dervish but with 200 more armor point yay!

I actually got beaten hard with this build before... shredded into pieces long before I could get into melee range. So I would rather stick to my 4*PPC Orion YAJ, which I used as a cheap dual-gauss alternative before I could afford such setup.

There are no boats in this game. I don't see why you would want a boat anyways, because water in this game is limited.

If you put SRMs on your boat - you would really have to get close to use them effectively. I guess a speed boat would be your best bet.

Might just be better off with something like a Lyran Commonwealth Jormungand:

I thought we were actually being serious here. You know, talking about actual mechs that are in the base game.

If you just download a bunch of mods that add everything and the kitchen sink, or mod in a full-on MWO mechlab, then what the ♥♥♥♥ difference does it make? Just pick the mech you like the look of best at the tonnage you want and slot in whatever you want, wherever you want.

Might as well just have one mech chassis for each tonnage step and be done with it. :steamfacepalm:
