"The Leptis issue"
Leptis, second city, has big issues to make me play further. Its only may on this second year ingame and I have already killed 29 gladiators in Leptis! I have only died one =)

In total with first year included i have 67-7 in kills. Its acctually only a couply of my gladiators that is crazy killers. My best has 19 kills, best in empire, and will for sure end up in "book of legends" if he EVER dies =)

Leptis "arena":s 8 best gladiators are now all mine and I see it very probably that this will end up in a top 10 long before december?

Last game I played ended up in Leptis. Then I had a top 5 in Leptis and 3 among top 5 in empire. Then, just as this in this game, I managed to go profit by paying of all depts and investing in business. This time its about the same a halfyear earlies =) I have some depts left but Im already going profit/turn ;) I ended that game before promotion to third city - It felt game over and like a very long way to Rome to prove myself being wrong? =)

Im strongly considering reestarting once more - And increasing difficulty once more as well.
My question is if anyone has a relly hard difficult setting to recomend? =) Or - is hardest on every setting the only way to go?

I also realize that my "empire stats" is based on oponents in two first cities only. If anyone has crushed everything in Leptis and kept continueing - does it turn harder once more? =)

Hi, the game is getting easy as you learn to play it even in stron

i am currently playing a new campaign, settings : Long, poor economy, matchup hard, ennemy gladiator evolution fast, lethality normal, legendary weapons on, ironman

i am currently in december 61BC in Capua city with 45 millions cash, 15 lvl 40 A+ glads. My records are 439W 5L, 326 kills, 1 death.

Got 3 retired gladiators with records 87-0, 61-1, 73-1 and one killed at 49-1.
My current roster consist of gladiators piling victories and having very few if any defeats.

Once you learn how to build your glads the become pratcically invicimble even on 1 vs 3 fights.

My feeling is that the game difficulty evolve too slowly. Whereas is sometime meet valuable opponents in Capua, this remain rare. Hopefully Rome will provide a real challenge, but i kinda doubt it.

My first campaign on easy setting was abandoned in Leptis as i ran in the same problem as you.

The true difficulty "settings" are:
No forfeits, ever. Not sitting out and just training is the biggest hurdle in the game. Sit out even a few fights to protect your guys or to train them up more makes everything hugely easier.

Never EVER back out of the fight match screen. This will give you a new an likely easier opponent.

Those 2 voluntary restirctions alone make everything much harder on every difficulty setting.

sgt-greywar.

Franck just showed me his results at one inch harder difficulty than mine:
439W 5L, 326 kills, 1 death.

This dont tickle! =) Im not even considering to play this game before anything is made to balance out the game. Ive give my advice in how diffrent odds should make huge diffrence in difficulty. I want to be forced to play 1vs 3 once in a while just to boost the odds. Now its just a walk in the park - I can easy get 1:1 odds where my all 3 glads probably could go solo vs 3 crappy oponents.

To force no forefits? You should be forced to fight to get the money - You should be forced to try to win a bad odds match just because you are in desperate need of a victory? Its not about the principle - If you force yourself to win harder than the game can effort: Well then I would force myself to never bet a single dime and try to progress from a such challenge..

I really like this game - Its nice and simple and it really hurts when a gladiator dies. But when you have 5 supernatural gladiators, its practiacally game over. At most you will die of a couple before winning the whole ****.. ?
Thanks guys. I'll be doing a balance pass through the game very soon. I have some good ideas here, as well as in the Game Suggestions thread that I am just parsing through right now and figuring out how to implement.

Very interesting! Yeah, I think I'll add that as an option.

Another thing I do is auto level gladiators and spectate only.

I'm still playing the fights but I have the levelling on auto. I find it more enjoyable this way and I've had a level 6 A+ guy die in Utica so far.
