This stuff has been in the game for a year, the last chance event ended so all that it means is that if you have not played Doom Eternal and you pick it up in lets say 2022 you can buy this optional thing if you want it for some reason but it is entirely superflous.
Doom Eternal is the only game I can think off that gets free single player and multiplayer content every two months but I am with you about bug fixes, those are pretty far in between, it would be nice to finally get that argentas paladi podium and icon I have been missing for a year.
You mean how they made the last year's Christmas event 5 weeks long this year instead of either giving us new Christmas skins or making the last chance 1 week? No it's not just you, the thumbnail of the last announcement shows they meant to do that. Disappointing as I love Christmas skins (all year round but that's just me) and we had a 2021 Halloween event but not a 2021 Xmas event,
I guess we are going to have repeats for some time while newer rewards might be part of Battlemode 2.0.
We know that we are going to get a Doom 64 set, possibly that will be a reward for people who own Doom 64, just like the Quake set.
Alts: MCU shirt, Yotsuba body pillow.
Alt2: Sopranos Shirt, Rei body pillow.
All of these were free by just playing the campaign on two occasions. Eternal gets content updates every month and BIG updates every 3 months. Big updates include master levels and sometimes stuff like 6.66 update which was a really neat surprise.
Same thing happened with COD and R6S, multicolored skins and reflective shiny camouflage patterns, stickers and weapon trinkets... Garbage.
You know the gaming industry is in serious trouble when historically well known developers can't even maintain the theme or identity of their flagship franchises. You guys couldn't even deliver proper multiplayer, such a shame.
Why are we still complaining over optional purchases and collectibles?
If you don't like them/don't want them, ignore them. It's not like your survival depends on collecting every single skin Id Software throws out.
Why are we letting cosmetics divide us?
