I loved DOOM 2016, I was not a huge fan of a good amount of what changed (minigun went from bullets (good sound) to energy (boring), pistol removed and overall stuff didn't feel as good) and how the story went in Eternal. I still hope (since this is the "end" of the Slayer's story), we could "eventually" get another thing like DOOM 3 (slow paced "horror"). I personally loved how the weapons felt, the variety of enemies and the very different environments of DOOM 3 over the "reboot". The whole use this weapon/equipment for this specific enemy and the 1V2 multiplayer was annoying. I loved the crap out of 2016's multiplayer the weapons and customization for your online character and weapons was amazing. I find the whole here's a skin that you can only work towards by a limited event that is annoying to participate in the biggest annoyance of this game. Some of the skins were cool but in my opinion most of them were just weird or not worth the time I spent to get them (I sadly have all the event items and don't touch multiplayer anymore (I hate the 1 vs many game format) so most essentially collects digital dust).

I hope there is a huge battle to end this off on a good note. I was kinda disappointed in hearing what the "end boss" was going to be in part 1. My imagination when it was said was, this is going to be boring and annoying like the long drawn out and spam attack filled battles of marauders.

I only really played the crap out of DOOM 3 then 2016. Eternal I beat the new campaign and then just log in once a week to do the challenges. The thing that really killed the game for me was the challenges and that I beat the entirety of the games campaign 3+ times. I had to delete my save because my save bugged, I had collected everything but the game still had the one "collectible" shown as not done. So I had to redo the entire campaign and get all the collectibles again. I never played the game on the hardest difficulty I hate gold and it's essentially unfair and not fun to play.

I am just venting my frustration of this game I believe I pre-ordered it, I got Twitch Prime technically just for the unique armors. I bought a few pieces of the collectors edition off of eBay. I love the overall look of DOOM but some things are just hit and miss these days. You try new things and you can't please everyone.

I did love the game for the first 2 runs (except for the marauders) after that it was just this again.

BTW they are testing some "battlemode2" thing. Is that Invasion mode of finally some stuff worth to play online?

hopefully both, I kinda want a battle mode similar to 2016 with the extra guns and maps and all that stuff along with all the gamemodes. Sadly I never actually got to play that though because I didn't play 2016 until the battlemode matchmaking died :(
