Doom Zero was never more than an idea pitch, it was talked about 5 years ago but was never even started as a project. You're asking about a game that does not exist.

Anything above Davoth would likely have to do with the wraiths and wherever the world spear came from. There is also whatever entity created Davoth which is implied to be the voice shouting "no!" during Urdak.

They could lean into lovecraftian stuff in the future, maybe even connect it to Quake.

Wolfenstein already has it's own thing going on, it never stopped.

Yea heard that stuff. Maybe there will be some pre doom 2016 story. Like doom guy fighting alongside the sentinels and all that lore .
