Good FPS - Terrible stuttering

Having a pretty major stutter problem while trying to play eternal here. Actual FPS is fine, when the game isn't stuttering. Pretty smooth 80-90 roughly. But it's being held back by constant stuttering, and although I'm trying to power through, it's really getting on my nerves now. Is this a game issue, or is my hardware busted? Running with an i7, RTX 2060, 16GB ram and unfortunately only using a HDD as my SSD does not have enough space for the game.

Many things you can try... for example

* In the Nvidia Control Panel's 3D Settings, for DOOM Eternal, make sure to set the "Power management mode" option to "Prefer maximum performance". And check whether the various "Vulkan/OpenGL present method" settings make any difference.

* Disable all overlays (Steam, GeForce Experience, RTSS, etc).

* Disable all unnecessary background applications, especially tools related to RGB and mouse/keyboard peripherals.

* Set the game's "Texture Pool Size" low enough so that you have a VRAM headroom of about 20-30% (then restart the game).

* Disable resolution scaling.

Appreciate all these! Sorry for the dumb question, but what's RTSS?

Does your game stutter every second?
Try to enable vertical sync in the game, and by the way, make sure that in the Nvidia driver, vertical sync is enabled only by the *Game settings*, and not forcibly disabled through Nvidia

It's most likely because of the game being installed in the HDD. If you need to, you can purchase an extra SSD on Amazon (I recommend at least 1 TB).

I have a laptop, so buying another harddrive isn't much help sadly!

Allready tried all solution for optimize fix this game & it took me a days to solve.Then I played this game like a couple of minute & it's seem run normally & then the fps suddenly dropped for no reason at all.I've give up to find these solution.

I had terrible stuttering in spite of good FPS when I tried running the game at a resolution lower than my screen’s.

0. Disable all overlays
1. Shader cache is corrupted. try disabling in both steam and your gpu.
2. Textures are set too high.
3. Driver is corrupted. try fresh reset install of driver.
4. Kernel level driver is conflicting, disable or uninstall all non system services.
5. OS is corrupted. wipe and start fresh.
