I am also encountering this and it was not an issue last time I played several months ago.
I have a near top of the line machine ( I7 13700k processor, 4070 graphics card and 32 gigs of ram). It slays every other game I own including Cyberpunk maxed out with enough room to play FFXIV in the background. On theoretical paper I have enough resources to run 2 maxed out DOOMs at once. Yet for some reason upon downloading the DLC I will encounter game breaking stuttering at seemingly random points. I can start the game entirely maxed out but eventually my frames will go from a deadlocked 60 fps with V-sync on (200-300+ with V-sync off) down to a staggering 20-30 fps range and it will rapidly bounce up and down to every amount in between.
I even tried completely minimizing the graphics to the bare minimum and while that bought me some additional time it inevitably started stuttering again. I can only make it stop by restarting the entire game.
I checked my PC temperatures and they are all 61c or lower so I know I'm not experiencing CPU throttling.
All drivers and operating system are up to date.
All of these variables combined indicate that it is a problem with the game itself.
There is no reason why I should go from 400 frames in bare minimum graphics (with over half of my machines resources to spare) down to 30, That is ridiculous.
Even the main menu will be effected once it has started.
This game used to run flawlessly for me when the base version was released but evidently somehow the devs managed to contaminate it and I really don't f##king appreciate it.
