I did notice that both Hugo and Marty don't seem to have nearly the same level of thrill and enthusiasm when talking about The Dark Ages that they displayed back when Doom 2016 and Eternal were being hyped up. In the few interviews and presentations they've done so far for Dark Ages, they just seem bored and a bit... I don't know... depressed? They just seem very 'blah'. I've seen comments on Youtube and social media from others mentioning it as well. So I'm not the only one who's noticed this.

Not much more to say until details of the game are more final so interviews probably feel like they drag on. Maybe Quakecon will be a bigger reveal. That's what happened with Eternal.

so according to you he didnt want to do doom but he want to do quake? another non original franchise? nah, i think that if it were up to him, he would prefer to make a completely original game.

That's true. Also, they might have just been tired during the interview and not feeling very energetic at the time.
