Newer does not always equal better. DA will be awesome but for what it was designed to be, Eternal has a case for being one of the greatest or at the very least most high octane flow-state fps games of all time.

2016 IMO had a great art style cause i love horror but i hate the gameplay. dark ages looks like a better 2016 so im exited

Dark Ages by its gameplay look like a slightly slower version of 2016 but with red/green light being the way.
Dark Ages is a downgraded version of 2016 if anything but you do you if you love the Marauder.

Playing through Eternal for the first time right now and it's quite underwhelming. Certainly better than 2016, but still nothing crazy. I guess they made the normal levels so that everyone could beat them. Also I hate all the dumb progression elements, they definitely ruin what could otherwise be a great first playthrough. I'm hoping the master levels are better.

Regarding Dark Ages, they apparently tripled down on the boring progression and "exploration" and added gimmick levels with mechs and dragons.

yeah it was the gameplay...mostly. Eternal is sooo much better.
