Quake has always "Taken the Lead" on MP/PvP, hence the bigger E-sport presence in comparison. This will eliminate wasted resources otherwise used on MP; this hopefully results in unleashing iD's Imps full force 100% attention to DA's perfection & evolution.
Never cared for MP for any doom [1993-->Eternal] versions whatsoever...of course except for Q2, Q3A, QLive, QC, .... which without a doubt produced the best awesome multiplayer experiences & players in the world. But if Quake 6 is just a speck in someones eye, it should have a single campaign mode just like Quake 1996 by design.
Its gonna take some time getting used to without the jump mechanic but I'm sure it will be as awesome as DE in its own right knowing the history of iD.
I concur with the Quake MP - Doom has always been about SP, and I welcome that they've chosen this puristic approach.
And so, a small wish, would be seeing a new Quake incarnation, which takes root from Q3 - I don't think I've played anything better than this in DM. I continued on to QLive, which was majorly fun! They should've kept it, as it was.
