Dark Ages better deliver!
So I upgrade my rig dir one reason only: Doom!

And so as I’m currently having a major time on nightmare in AG1 (yes, we’re talking difficulty beyond anything), I realized yesterday, how majestic Eternal was.

So with this recommended 12700K, 4070 Super, NVME (finest) and 32 Gigs on Linux - I’m set, for another round of Doom - but! (The CPU upgrade is cheap, call nvidia for being what they are).

Looking at the pure level of fun in Eternal, we’re now switching to tank mode (legacy), I have some concerns. Am I alone here?

First Doom is not Heretic/Hexen, it’s a gun game. Remember when you first got that shotgun with your Sound Blaster 16? Yeah I fear the role playing influence here!

Next; RT requirements.
While I know that next-gen console friendliness is catering; Doom runs on everything has been a hallmark. Doom is an inclusive game. I hope ID is gonna surprise everyone once again, as with Eternal.

Lastly, I’m really looking forward to it, but the bar from Eternal is huge. And the level of FUN, will be hard to encompass. There is a sense of familiarity in demons, there’s a huge amount of nostalgia in Doom.

So fingers crossed, that my upgrade was worth it.

I loved the presentation, however - no MP, is sad. Just add DM / and we’re happy.

(Or at least give us Q3-26)

Anyways keep slayin for Daisy!!

Doom has been my reason for upgrading my PCs over the years. Each game requires more and more gigs.

Doom being released in single campaign mode is welcoming.
Quake has always "Taken the Lead" on MP/PvP, hence the bigger E-sport presence in comparison. This will eliminate wasted resources otherwise used on MP; this hopefully results in unleashing iD's Imps full force 100% attention to DA's perfection & evolution.

Never cared for MP for any doom [1993-->Eternal] versions whatsoever...of course except for Q2, Q3A, QLive, QC, .... which without a doubt produced the best awesome multiplayer experiences & players in the world. But if Quake 6 is just a speck in someones eye, it should have a single campaign mode just like Quake 1996 by design.

Its gonna take some time getting used to without the jump mechanic but I'm sure it will be as awesome as DE in its own right knowing the history of iD.

Don't get me wrong, if there's one game developer out there I would trust my dogs life on, it would be ID!

I concur with the Quake MP - Doom has always been about SP, and I welcome that they've chosen this puristic approach.

And so, a small wish, would be seeing a new Quake incarnation, which takes root from Q3 - I don't think I've played anything better than this in DM. I continued on to QLive, which was majorly fun! They should've kept it, as it was.
