Amen, all is said, thank you ... I will never buy this garbage
Huh?
I dont think that word means what you think it does.
Pay a visit to the Dark Ages Forum. Those sliders seem to be the very upsetting for these people. Accessibiliy=inclusion=woke.
I dont care if they are all standing around slicing their arms in unity.
The word does not mean what he thinks it does.
For what it is worth, 1993's Doom 1 has "sliders"
I think he was just sarcastic, there is a thread on DA forum with something like that. It might be funny to read, but of course a waste of time too (I quit after two lines).
It most likely wont be
(funny to read)
None of it makes any sense.
Doom Dark Ages might not be that great a game, for some.
Hell i am not even sure i would like it.
But that's fine, i do not have to like everything, nor does everything have to cater to me.
No reason for me to even have a tirade about it, simply do something else.
Even if i think a game is the worst thing ever, that has 0 bearing on reality.
It's probably a very good game, just not one that is for me.
I am certainly not going to shriek about it, or attempt to redefine language to invent reasons
the justify my shrieking.
Sure, that's how balanced people reason about this.
But maybe sometimes, you just want to see a circus, with clowns and stuff? :D
Or you don't want to see it, and just stumble into one. Circus in moderation can be funny on occasion (as long as you remember not to argue with clowns).
Yep. Clowns never make sense. Just imagine the horror if they would.
We have no idea at this point.
If i had to speculate, No, at least not until all the DLC's have been released.
Why would one Buy DLC, if i am releasing DLC for free?
(Assuming i could release a top quality TC or add on pak)
I think it will be interesting to see if Id releases their tools for this now that they're under new ownership.
Well, Microsoft bought bethesda quite a while ago (2021) and even Zenimax's shift from Xbox Game Studios to Microsoft Gaming happened well before the release of these tools.
That all said, if Doom Dark Ages DOES get mod tools it certainly wont be until a few years after release like Eternal did. They wont want to step on the toes of any DLC they make (tho I think good game devs shouldn't be worried about that given the team size, quality, and official nature meaning they wont lose out to mods). Plus making mod tools ready for the public does take work, even if you release with zero documentation and say "have at it", even if you make little effort to bug fix, it does have to make sure to not allow access to some stuff you might not want, and simply function on more than just the dev computers where a very specific build "it has to have this one video card and this one cpu or else it crashes" type thing isn't publicly acceptable.
Still, fingers crossed. I liked snap map in 2016, but it was NOTHING compared to this. When I think of ID, one of the first things I think of is how until they got bought out they always released mod tools and several years after the games came out they'd even release the source code. Doom 1~3, Wolfenstein 1~ET, and Quake 1~4 all have public source code available. After 2009 tho nothing has been open source. Rage/idtech5 was supposed to become open source but despite saying that in 2007, come 2010 after they got bought they reversed and said 'it'll be internal only' :/
