DOOM Eternal black screen issue
So I don't know if my DOOM Eternal is cursed or not, but i've been having this issue for a few weeks now, DOOM Eternal has a black screen when i boot it up, but it has audio, I think all of you guys heard this before, but something is werid with my DOOM Eternal, i've done all the solutions i've found so far, letting go thru anti virius, i disabled ALL of my overlays, disabled v-sync, Tried alt + entering, only for it to lead to the same thing, a black screen, with nothing but audio, i also posted this on Reddit to see if i would get any answers, one of them said to reinstall windows (which i am not doing for a single game), any other solutions to see if i can uncurse my DOOM Eternal?

I'm having the same exact problem. They must have F'ed something up and they need to release a patch for the game. I put 30+ hours on with no issues and last time I played was August of 2024.

i figured it out! Its the new drivers, u gotta instal 442.74 Win10 64bit Game Ready Test Driver, and then change the settings in game in order to make it 1920-1080
Drivers are definitely the culprit, at least for some

Try killing off Steam and restarting it. You'd be surprised how often that clears up dumb bugs like this one.

Failing that, turn off Steam Overlay.

I updated my drivers today AND tried out overclocking this rig for the first time in its lifespan. So I was pretty worried when I got black screen'd. I restarted Steam and turned off the Overlay at the same time, now it's running just fine.

Does it work for people that have Windows 11 like me?

I had this same issue, whenever i re-install Doom Eternal, the game is default set to run at the highest settings possible so I turned them down in the nvidia app and locked my fps to 120 in the Nvidia control panel. I turned off Steam/Nvidia/discord overlays, cleared my steam download cache and turned off Shader pre-caching in the Steam settings and then the game launched and ran but froze in the settings menu, I tried again and has been fine since... ♥♥♥♥ if i know but that worked for me

Yes, but it only happens if I try to start recording through Nvidia. If I don't record at all it plays perfectly fine. I hate it.
