That being said, if you say vanilla Eternal works, then I would assume that the launcher is still working. So if only the "Play DOOM Eternal with mods" button doesn't do anything while it was working fine before, and there haven't been any changes to the system in the mean time (and I would still like to know what exactly is happening when you press the button, even if the answer is "nothing"), the two most likely reasons would be incompatible/broken mods, or a broken save/profile.
First thing I'd try would be to remove all mods from the "Active mods" list in the launcher and to temporarily "delete" the current saves/profile - usually it's in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOMSandBox\base\savegame.unencrypted, make a copy of it and then delete it (or just move it to somewhere else).
it just wont launch, idtechlauncher.exe fails, deleted a bunch of files had them reinstalled but nothing works. fresh idtechlauncher still the same,. ill just reinstall the whole game and see, thanks for your response
Looking forward to seeing a level mod from you. Please let us know.
I'm working on it, though the first one will be more of a "test level" so to speak, where I try to put together all the individual stuff that I've learned about so far, like encounter design, texture changes, model changes, custom music, custom sfx, custom HUD elements, custom cinematics/animations, modded existing cinematics, modified/custom enemy AI, and so on and so forth... it's a looooot of stuff to learn, and it takes a loooot of time, a lot more than I anticipated. Anyhow... I'll make sure to let you know :)
