True. I'm just so sad after everyone saying its the best level in the game, and it's literally just Tyrants and Marauders spammed in cheesy positions to ♥♥♥♥ you up. The end run especially and the "dusty rooms"

Its content like Super Gore Nest that has made me a better player. I don't even play it regular anymore, Classic Mode all the way because it pushes you out of your comfort zone even more.

IMO future master levels have to meet the standards of Super Gore Nest at least.

Yeah most of the fights do that really well. But some of the fights are just getting locked in the closet with 32 demons and hoping they dont body block you to death.
Some of the other fights, especially the "dusty" ones are straight up stupid. The one with the spectral whiplash especially since i LITERALLY could not see them, even when standing still and not trying to fight...

I hope they do more stuff like the fight right before you turn on the generator, that was epic, but the flee'ing section after is straight up stupid, since you have to run and not fight. It's more or less just RNG whether you make it or not depending on where the AI path, luckily its kinda consistent if you move the same way. Still bad gameplay and design imo.

Duh, it's a Master Level. It's just a very hard puzzle made for advanced players, that's it. I mean you complained about Dark Lord in the other thread, I'm not sure you should be anywhere near Master Levels.

Master levels should be literally the hardest content in the game outside of mods. Gloves come off. Non-stop funhouses of encounters that are just out to kill you. That's what the most difficult of classic Doom wads end up looking like, eternal is no exception.

It sucks the other 2 master levels are not up to par with SGN in terms of diffiuclty, but hopefully Taras Nabad will be ready to kick my ass soon enough. Plutonia style archvile cheese? I'm in.

Somebody hasn't played the custom master levels made by Saleem, lol.

It's definitely not the best level, but it is still a decent Master Level albeit it was a buggy one at first, and if they were handing out rewards they weren't gonna make it easy to get them, which I love. I wield the Gold Combat Shotgun with pride, as the grind made me a much better player. And honestly, the dusty rooms are just an excuse for me to abuse the freeze bomb and Chaingun Shield. Not to mention strategic use of the Crucible and BFG supplies can turn most problem fights into trivial affair (I can get through the duel tyrant, Demon Hunter, Carcass tube without any of those because, again, freeze bomb lol)
