TAG 1 is still worth playing, even if the nerfs are disappointing.
Horde Mode doesn't really get challenging up until the very end. Most of the challenge comes from trying to maximize your score, not from the fights themselves.
The new Master Levels are all pretty solid. I still think SGN remains on top, but they're all good and decently challenging nonetheless.
You should try playing modded levels. Some of them can get fatiguing, but they're extremely fun if you're in the mood for a challenge. You'd probably enjoy any level from Zandy, Delta, Konvaz, or Saleem. Zandy's Doom Hunter Based is my personal favorite. If you want something that's brutally difficult for the sake of being difficult, give Unreclaimed Earth a try
I admit I haven't done the expacks yet so those might be rougher, but the base game wasn't too bad IMO.
You're right, I think it's just the ability to save-scum through those sections that probably makes them feel less intense lol.
I agree... but this doesn't change anything I said, even the opposite.
Also, I realize you complain about the fact TAG1 was made too easy (even if most changes were reverted), but when someone told you to just try the Master Levels that are way harder than OG TAG1, you just answered that Quake is harder (for some reason ?). So I don't get the point of this thread.
on that note i didn't even notice the changes done originally to atlantica before they were reverted, the only tag1 changes i noticed was the lack of the spirit baron as the introduction to the enemy and that's just because that was an objectively ♥♥♥♥ way to introduce the enemy
Agreed, it should have been a tyrant.
I guess one man's "objectively" is another man's "subjectively" then, because that baron was absolutely perfect and actually put up a fight.
His replacement dread knights can be killed by standing still and using only the microwave and chainsaw.

yeah, if you know the game inside out.
for a first time run, the baron is unfair to introduce the spirit. it's too high of a skill spike especially compared to everything else up to that point. having a knight and THEN putting in a baron in later is a better idea because it ramps up the difficulty over time.
if you're gonna be a difficulty elitist then ♥♥♥♥ off.
