Blood punch is far superior to the normal punch from 2026. When did you ever punch anything bigger than an imp in the last game? In this game your fists are are a mighty weapon. Just have to charge them, which takes two glory kills at the start of the game and just keeping your health and armor up after upgrades.
Nah, that's why blood punch is there, which is recharged by glory kills (aswell as health & armour from the upgrades) so if you could one hit glory kill all the zombies you'd be drowning in blood punches & health, which would be over powered. Almost like there's a reason for such things.
Glory kills, Health & armour with the upgrades as i said.
It is later in the game. I don't know how far you are. I recommend making health for blood and armor for blood early crystal upgrades. Faster flamebelch and loot magnet still are priorities, but the blood punch related upgrades should be your next ones. Way more important than "demons drop armor at a faster rate" which is borderline useless if you can't absorb the extra shards for blood punch. "Heavy demons burn longer" should be your last upgrade.
With armor for blood and health for blood you have endless blood punches as long as you manage to keep your health and armor up and use your flame belch a lot as you should anyways.
I underestimated blood punch when I first played the game, but it's a super powerful tool.
yes it does with the crystal upgrades
My solution to it would be to make regular punch do roughly the same damage it does in 2016 (probably without being able to stagger fodder in one hit), but make it do no falters. Want to punch a demon out? Cool, but be ready to take damage. Right now, punch does 1 point of damage but still falters enemies, which is double-weird.
Totally. It's weird in that it doesn't make sense to the player mind as all fps have melee that kills, including OG doom. I get that DE does a lot of things just because that's the only way it can work within the strict rules of DE but that sometimes goes against expected FPS behaviour.
If it was bad and didn't cause stagger, but could eventually kill with no glory state then yeah. Win/win. Plus no doubt fun achievements could follow.
With OG doom you needed a powerup to make your fists effective, otherwise demons would take a long time to kill. It makes total sense because you have blood punch.
