Both, my change mod is on mouse button 5, I can change my mods in about 1 second. Depends on what's needed, and of course I''m always moving, changing weapons, mods , etc, while moving, dashing (mouse button 4), jumping, swing bars, etc.

Energy shield is basically 8 seconds of god mode on a 4 second cooldown.

I'm not worried about the amount of damage I can dish - plenty of other guns and combos for that.

energy shield because you can stand right next to a demom and just pour fire and then the shield fires and finishes them off

Who said anything about defense? Dashing into demons with shield does nice damage and sets up blood punch for huge damage.
