The Ancient Gods music sucks?
Is it just me or the music for the DLC was bad? They should've at least used the original combat tracks some, too.

The mixing in game doesn't do justice to the dlc music but Andrew and David have made songs that are on the same level as 'the only thing they fear is you'

Such as:
Trial of Maligog

UAC Atlantica

The World Spear

The Dark Lord

Praise be upon trial of maligog. I love that track XD

Maybe my opinions are too bloody harsh, but I really don't have any opinion on Mick Gordon's music other than he's an overrated shill that got lucky doing the "trendy" fad of the time.

Also fed up with hearing how "Doom just isn't Doom!" without Mick being part of the soundtrack, get the hell out of here you shmucks. :)
honestly, i think the new dlc is great but the lack of rifts doesn't push it over the edge like most doom tracks do. not just mick gordon. but doom isn't just about the head banging metal, but the rifts are what push it over the edge. if it had that, it would be fantastic. some tracks do get there though. i love the trial of mailgog especially.
It doesn't suck. For me it's solid metal OST, but Mick's tracks are way more catchy and "headbangy". I feel like my blood is pumping when the base game tracks are playing, while with TAG... It's just there. It's not interrupting anything I'm doing, but not amplifying it either.

It just sounds like generic metal for me and before someone pulls out the standard "well the OG DOOM is just generic metal", Eternal is not OG DOOM. Mick's style made 2016 into what it is and pushed DOOM into its modern age. Eternal is also modern DOOM, which is why Mick's music is what Eternal is for me. Not to mention countless little nods to the OG DOOM games, from the obvious Daisy theme in the old main menu music (I hope they'll add a menu option to switch between the two menu tracks), to remaking OG DOOM's music into Eternal's style.
Andrew and David's work is solid and really good, but Mick's attention to detail and love to the DOOM series is just something else. I started to appreciate it even more after this video:

weirdly the MIDI in the GO DOOM games make it way more unique and catchy than they would be in regular audio form. don't know why i think that, don't ask me.
Mick has some amazing tracks on the base campaign. TOTFIY and Super Gore Nest are pretty amazing tracks - mostly because they're super riffy and have strong patterns.

I think several of the DLC tracks really add to the atmosphere. Hulshultz Blood Swamps adds to the feeling that you're hunting stuff in the swamps, sort of this brooding sound. And UAC Atlantica has this rhythmic, chaotic feel that you'd expect from the demonic landing party that greets you on the rig.

And Trial of Maligog might be the best track in the game - sadly you can barely hear it during the fight, and once you master the boss it's over before you could hear much of it anyways.

I think these guys did a great job in a limited amount of time, and all 3 of them deserve credit for making some awesome music for Eternal. And the drama.... well, it wouldn't be a Doom game without a little bit of that tbh.

DLC has some of the most Doom tracks we've had lately, better than some of the base game tracks IMO.

It's a shame the mixing is not good. Even with the sound on 50, music on 100, and all other volumes maxed, the music is still drowned out.

The trial of maligog got the shaft despite it being one of my favorite tracks. Not only quiet, you rarely ever hear the main parts of it because the fight either ends too quickly, or that part of the track never plays thanks to randomness.

I think Andrew Hulshult did the best he could with the time he had. With all due respect to him-I do like his work on Dusk- he ain't Mick. I don't think the music on the dlc had any real chance to compete with the base game's OST. I agree with the poster above, it's just kinda "there" and feels like B-sides to what we already got with base Eternal. Although being fair, I'm sure Hulshult and Dave were feeling the pressure to not really rock the boat sonically or to do anything to out of the box, considering how revered Mick's Doom work has become. They probably figured it was for the best to compose stuff that mostly played it safe and stayed in the lane with Mick's stuff. If they do come back for a third game, I'm hoping they get the opportunity to explore some creative freedom with the OST, and they really get the time to work on it to their satisfaction.
There's good tracks in the DLCs that belong but the mixing makes them all sound way too quiet. The main campaign has music which you can hear loud and clear but with TAG 1 and 2, setting the music volume to 100 and everything else to 50-60 is a MUST.

I'm a champion of Andrew (love Prodeus' and Dusk's OST's) and it was a no brainer that he would take the reins after Mick screwed the pooch. And while I do like the cuts from both DLC's, the mixing is just simply terrible.

Any chance of us getting a digital release for the main game and DLC? there is nowhere official to buy or download it.
I think at this point, the best thing anybody can expect is that they will not be officially released as downloads or on any platform like Spotify. The situation with the OST has been quiet after the controversy.

I figured as much, man, it really sucks. Eternal has one of my favorite soundtracks ever, and there is nowhere to buy/download it officially.
True, unofficial it is for now sadly.
Bloodswamps, Trial of maligog, UAC Atlantica, Reclaim- HECK all of them are dope. Not as dope as Micks work but a solid 8/10 for me
i dont care for most of the music in tag2 but tag1 has a great soundtrack so its just you
