eternal is id tech 7

d16 is id tech 6

you can't "use it" as it's proprietery and isn't licensed out

Do ID gonna release this engine in future? I really would want to use it

I highly doubt it. Even if they did, it'd probably be a pain in the ass to learn.

I'd stick with Unity

I don't wanna my game to look like some roblox gameplay, so unity isn't best option for me.
Im gonna look for some other engines.

it sounds like you know nothing about game development

just using the engine isn't gonna make everything look good

If you care more about visuals then you could always use Unreal 4 instead, but you'd be making things a lot harder on yourself. Using any engine other than Unity and Unreal is almost never feasible for indie game devs. Most indie shooters use Unity and there's a good reason for that.

Does this look like roblox to you?

The engine you choose won't have anything to do with whether it looks like roblox
Bruh Engine v2.0

I mean, I know that engine don't make everything look epic, but unity is just pretty meh for me.

Why not look into Unreal Engine 5?

Animations and atmosphere have nothing to do with an engine. if you are going to make games, learn what an engine is.

I mean. Thats a pretty casual game. 1, hit, punishes dodging. Bullets pick a random trajectory. There is lengthy reloading sequences serving as a catch up mechanic. Has very little depth but a lot of pointless complexity to make the normie crown think there is depth.

Id wager 50% of the FPS made in Roblox actually have a much much much wider skill gap than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tarkov. What next? You going to compare League of Legends to Dota2? Halo Wars to Star Craft? CS:GO to Quake? Gran Turismo to Assetto Corsa Competizione?

They kinda do, maybe that's just do to lazy developers not knowing how to use the engines they choose or just not caring in the first place about what they're making but generally I have found both of those things to be done better usually in id games than for example say UE4 games.
