World Spear arena won't end

Just installed the game again a few days ago and just reached the second DLC levels. In the World Spear level, the arena where the giant tentacle comes out from the well, it just won't end. The game keeps respawning Zomies and Imps but nothing else and by now I have literally killed hundreds of them and they just keep coming. I know many arena battles from Ancient Gods 2 go on for, well, way too long but it wasn't that bad in my memory.

The fact that it only spawns Imps and Zombies seems to be a bug, that it either forgets to spawn the "real" enemies or the arena end won't trigger for some reason. Any ideas?

especially if you're trying for that Ultra nightmare difficulty

Fire a BFG shot across the arena.

There may be a heavy stuck in the geometry that you can't see.

I have been doing that for like 8 minutes. I'm not even sure WHERE to fire to even get that

If you’re stuck in UNM you can close the game using OS tools (like Alt+F4 or killing the process in Task Manager), restart it and load from the last checkpoint.

I did it like 2-3 times on my successful UNM run (fell through elevator in Arc Complex, fell through the first arena in Urdak and some similar situation where I wasn’t dead but couldn’t continue normally).

You can also use it to cheat death, of course, but that’s boring and defeats the point of UNM.

Try stating again, from the beginning? It’s the second arena of the first level. You’ll lose some progress, but not much of it.
