how about your slayer progress ? weapons, runes and all the upgrade, will they carried over to upcoming DLC or we will play the slayer from default state (for DLC)
Previous progress from the main game doesn't matter. DLC maps are designed to be fought with a maxed out 100% slayer, so the game just starts you out with the full kit and all upgrades (except for the new ones it adds).

I don't think so. They announced it will be standalone, you don't even have to own the base game.

Sorta. When you buy Eternal, you're basically buying the main menu with the campaigns given to you as "free" DLC. Even the main campaign is DLC. The same will work if you buy The Ancient Gods instead of the main game.

So do you recommend me installing the base game now or nah?

If you're that worried about disk space you can go to the game page in your library and click on "manage my dlc". After you do that you will want to uncheck the single player campaign. No idea if this will work as the dlc is not out yet but you could try.

Sorry, but as I said, you don't even have to own the base game. Why the hell would you need to have it installed?

There's one good reason though: new master levels. I doubt they will be playable if you don't have the main game.

The DLC is assuming you already played the game (or that your a newbie masochist)
Still, you can play it on any difficuty so if it's too much for ya, lower it.
