Glad its the same dev because he did a good one with the last. (Eternal) trilogy.
I hope they don't mess up the DLC model, and if there is chances to incorporate any on-going expansions into the base game, they could incorporate them better this time around and produce more replayability.
Interesting indeed. Like Slayer Gates maybe we activate level progressions maybe that will make DLC and future add-ons for it can unlock new places in the open world.
Loved the space ship design on this and thought it was a bit of a waste that it didn't continue into the DLCs and stack up all the content into what feels a single game.
what i mean is the spaceship and the BFG DLC could had shot us to Europa. There was lots of potential there for throwing us into alien and hellish environments
Swimmy Swimmy ice cold water-centric DLC emerge to the surface through the crusts of Europa.
i know that enemies return in the same state and design
but i mean the one at 1:23 on the trailer. Who dives at the camera. U know those guys i long forget the name of that demon.
also got thinner plasma bolts unless thats an alternate fire, and the original phase orbs will be the primary mode.
I guess when you look at the new weapon designs and what they are being used for you can see that the Eternal weapon roster featuring two shotguns it has made substantial improvements to weapon diversity while filling the same niches. So that unmakr looking Skull Fragment gun is abit like an assault rifle, but its more like the full auto in functionality. Self feeding ammo drop full auto.
Personally I think the skull gun is going to be a replacement for the combat shotgun, as crazy as that sounds.
The combat shotgun is iconic, but the way that skull gun "could" work conceptually would make it a good analog. Smashing skulls and blasting them in a tight cone in front of you sounds like the combat shotgun. And then the full auto reference you mentioned - it would just fit.
Doom purists would be up in arms if that's where they go, lol.
also don't know if its a replacement for the Arbalest, but there is a nail gun aswell that looks like its capable of full auto due to the size of its magazine
A massive part of replayability is gun variety. So maybe classic guns will be released it and be optional to take them. No sign of the Plasma Guns ghost busting ray. No sign of ghosts or anything like that. i would imagine. i don't know for fact. but i would imagine there could be more weapons in that game.
That's actually an insanely cool idea for DLC. Release a pack that allows you to replay the content with a completely different set of weapons.... wow. That's gold, seriously.
For me anyways the desire to unlock skins is not enough to facilitate huge amount of gameplay. I have about equal gameplay in this in hours than i have in half-life 2 and hl2 i owned for much longer. However the replayability isn't huge. But what can potentially double it would be strategic and alternative weapon swaps. More than like alt fire options.
like a weapon is a huge design. Its your alternate fire modes, with 4 options, its your buffs and upgrades, and its your tool utility. So a weapon pack on its own, refreshes a tonne of content where it is difficult to produce maps, or create the story but the game can still be milked for its cash using extended your fun DLC.
It sounds corporate as hell, but its a way to value the work. If a weapon is properly tested, and a new roster is created, as it was in contrast to eternal as it seems in dark ages. If it is a matter of a variable and billboard as to what ammunition enemies drop, and that connected to the weapon that was overridden for a particular playthrough... mueah
I mean imo the Crucible, the Hammer. The level design facilitated a requirement for the presence of certain weapons that output a certain result. More and more as you step into the DLCs. If those requirements could be met by multiple forms of weapon, then the player doesn't just progress the story in 4 different ways depending on difficulty. but could progress the story using a unique cominbation of weapons instead of just a flashy skin..
anyways
i'l be buying that game.
is what am saying.
its better that we dont do my ideas
and that we judge the ideas presented to us by the actual game designers.
But i hope when we finish the game that it doesn't have that same emptiness.
