Are there any NSFW limits in the official mod browser and can you make multiplayer mods?
I'm buying the game in a week so I can't directly look at the mod browser right now. All the TOS says about user content is the general stuff.

They'll remove NSFW stuff I'm pretty sure. I would assume such things should be hosted outside the main launcher that everyone will use.

Can the mods be imported easily from outside the launcher?

I think NexusMods and other place's will be the host for those. Bethesda and steam don't usually play around on with there home terf.

Yes, you simply place/unpack them in the configured activemods folder. That's what idStudio does too when testing a mod after packaging it.

Well, someone brought up distribution via 3rd party platforms and the legalese around that... turns out the current idStudio EULA relatively clearly forbids that.

All uses of the Mod Tool are limited to:
(i) Your personal non-commercial use solely in connection with the Product; or
(ii) The creation of Game Mods in connection with one or more id Software LLC’s video game DOOM Eternal, to be distributed through the Mod portal.

Sooooo... that's not nice. Sure, it won't stop anyone from sharing stuff privately, but publicly, well, that's going to be a problem 😥

Why do you want nsfw in a doom game.

Its not necessarily about want, but about not having limitations.

That doesn't state anything about content restrictions other than basically making paid mods.

It says that the creations made with idStudio are only allowed to be distributed via the Mod portal. Meaning 3rd party hosting is not allowed.

NSFW is mentioned in other places that are more specific to the mod portal, for example https://idstudio.idsoftware.com/faq/community-standards

In the end these rules complement each other. You cannot share NSFW mod content on the Mod portal, and you cannot publicly share mod content created with idStudio anywhere else than on the Mod portal.

Well that makes me reconsider buying the game, though that sort of policy holds no legal teeth except in places like Japan.
