About saves on the mod update

Seems the game has separate save files for both the mod test update and the vanilla game so if you click "Play DOOM Eternal with Mods" and wonder where your saves went, try clicking the play button on the front page. Which I guess makes sense incase you download a bupkis mod that kills saves or something.

I was actually thinking why my game booted up full screen... then I realized the game did the initial setup like picking which graphic mode I want, brightness, and accessibility settings. Turns out the game makes a save specific for playing with Mods so that it doesn't affect your actual save. Connecting Online using Mods are blocked so you're stuck offline mode.

where is the default gamesave? i'm trying to use the master level mod i had before the update on the new version since it's already been ported over and it's broken on the base version unless meathook has been updated already

Normal game saves are ENCRYPTED, while modded game saves are not encrypted. They are not compatible. Someone will have to figure out how to decrypt the saves if id doesn't give us the tools to do it.

This ^ It's more enjoyable replaying the game all over again on the Sandbox version.

Basically for others interested, you just need to download the zip and use the program to export a backup, then, extract all the folders in C:\Users\*Userprofile*\Saved Games\id Software\DOOMSandBox\savedgame.unencrypted\*numbers*\
