Is it necessary to collect all that basic ''collectables'' in Ancient Gods pt1?

Like in my other thread arguing about how difficult is the agressivity of enemies. I've forgot that not only I am also collecting all items like DOOM slayer gates, secret timed events but at the same these two in particular ''collectables'' are giving a major bad mood to continue.

I've past Blood swamps level and I'm on The Holt. Is there any achievements just like in the base game for discovering, beating collectable including DOOM slayer gates and secret demonic timed events? Or it just for finding and using all 'supporter runes'?

It’s just fun stuff to do. You get skins for beating secret encounters and support runes are quite good, but you only need one. There is no secret ending or anything.

So supporter runes only. Okay, I'll leave those damn DOOM slayer gates and timed challenges for another time because this is a huge downtime for if there are no Steam achievements related.

I can see global achievements. And start from there and check community guides for 100% completitionist.
In global achievements, anything I haven't unlocked will either be in gray or locked. I'm aware there is one achievement for unlocking all supporter runes but I didn't stop to ask why there are still DOOM slayer gates and damn those damn demonic heart timed challenges. Surely pda ( history pages ), map expansion, extra lifes and etcs are important.

But anything that become harder to keep control of winning is slowing me down very fast. I've purchased these DLCs about 7 months ago I still couldn't beat Ancient Gods part 1.

He’s talking about TAG1, the only reward for the gates are Support Runes.

Just found out there are three achievements for three specific collectables which includes those darn secret demonic timed challenge encounters ( Hypersonic ) The others are for supporter runes ( Lucky charm bracelets) and codex pages ( Required Reading ).


Anyone got tips for keeping cool before doing those timed demonic challenges? I always gets nervous knowing that I miss shots or pick up the wrong. I have two charges of BFG and some ammo and I'm in The Holt level map. The secret challenge there contains one possessed demonic soul and a invisible pinky. Surely wasting bfg charge on it solves the problem but then there is slayer gate arena which gets a lot hotter to play.

That challenge isn't hard, use Lock-On Burst on possessed cybermancubus but probably kill Spectre (invis Pinky) first.

Save BFG for the second challenge, unless you're really good at fighting Marauders.

Remember that you can get to the end of the level, find all the additional BFG ammo and then do the challenges and Slayer gate with fast travel.

Ohh so I can return later using fast travel? Hmm...I was doing everything at the same time just like the achievement tells to ''Do it all in one saved slot'' meaning is not carried along other saves.

So I can skip DOOM slayer gates, right? Demonic secret encounters are those one need to be beaten super fast against the clock, right?

You need to beat both Gates to get the "Lucky Charm Bracelet" achievement.

Single save slot just means single save slot. You can replay levels to collect stuff you missed or complete challenges you skipped.

That is a relief. So to make things clear. I can beat the campaign and replay mission to complete challenges like you pointed out? Whoa...that is great. I've thought it all wrong and had to think it had to be done everything in one shot.

Still bloody complicated Lucky Charm bracelets be this damn difficult. It reads 'secret challenges encounter' so I've thought only demonic hearts with timed challenges and not DOOM slayer key and gates.

There are achievements in TAG1 for collecting all the lore, for beating all the timed fights and for collecting all support runes (the last one requiring beating two Slayer Gates). Those are separate achievements.

As long I can go back anytime ever after beating The Ancient God part 1 then I think its okay I guess. My line of thoughts were all wrong. I've thought I had to do find or complete all collectable and challenges just like in DOOM Eternal.
