I thought I was hard - Ultra Nightmare

Usually I'm like a gaming masochist and always choose the hardest difficulty. But Ultra-Nightmare is just too much for me. Props to you maniacs who have done it. Why do you hate yourselves? lol

The only reason I even tried Ultra Nightmare was because I enjoyed the game very much and wanted to keep playing it after completing it a couple of times on regular Nightmare and on Extra Life mode for an achievement. The last run, the Extra Life one, is basically UNM Lite, and it teaches you where you are most likely to die. I would say there is no point in UNM if you don’t want to keep playing the game after a regular Nightmare run. The golden suit is rather tacky.

It's not as hard as it first seems. I hope "The Dark Ages" comes with Ultra Nightmare as a public achievement, just for the giggles.

It's not easy. I've been playing Doom and Quake since the 1900's. You think this is bad try playing against the top humans. They're even worse.

First thing I'd check if you're having trouble is your performance. You absolutely must get a solid and stable framerate to do anything in these games.

this game runs on my cpu from 2011... only time i dropped frames was on super gore nest. down from 75 to 60. kek.

Performance is perfect I play it at 1080p on ultra and on Proton (Open Suse Tumbleweed) with vsync on..my RX 6650 XT does a great job..

That's the whole point, salt for the next 1000 years. I would personally slip Hugo Macchiato 5 dollars and a bag of Dollar Tree's finest beef jerky, to ensure that id will never lower the difficulty, no matter how much people complain.

beating this game on ULTRA NIGHTMARE (the main campaign and the two dlcs) is literally so easy for advanced players
there are so many custom made mods which are definitely a billion times worse than main campaign on UN xD
