So this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid, I just beat it but there are so many problems with the second stage of this fight. First of all the arena is too small, when he comes towards you while spinning the chain its pure luck if you get far enough away to not get insta smashed. Second the timing of the stagger after the glowing waves is incredibly stupid, its easier just to dodge it then try to get it. Thirdly his attacks come WAY too fast, I do a chainsaw facing away from him and I just have to pray he doesnt do half my health as soon I come out of the animation (yes im spamming dash). Fourth you cant really recover anything other than ammo, if your focus on the adds for any reason besides chainsaw for ammo youre basically guaranteed to get hit by the boss. Fifth his attacks are WAY TOO FAST (Yes again) the flails go from him to you in about .1 seconds

What’s your frames-per-second? Some enemy attacks in Eternal are faster and/or more damaging the higher your FPS is.

When the gladiator gets cocky, you have to become twice as cocky, and give him the double penetration treatment, that is, not just shoot him from the front, but also use the fodder to meathook into the air, and then shoot him from above/behind, this renders his shield and flail useless.

Nah, go look up some ultra nightmare runs on youtube from good players. He is easy & quick once you get good at the game.

If the fight looks faster than that for you though it could be a framerate issue as described already.

Man, you need practice, this boss fight is a choreography, use you flamethrower to get armor and do quick swift betwen ballista-rocket-super shotgun, when he use the flame whip put your minigun.
After a few time you will learn the timings for this boss.
