OMG Doomslayer can finally get to Neverland!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I mean this really is adorable.
People have known about it since 2016, the devs also knew & decided to keep it in.
Hugo also plays eternal on console & ballista boosting is harder to do there.
So yeah given that they've removed gauss boosting in 2016, they could do it again in Eternal , and I'm pretty sure they're keeping it on purpose because they're okay with it and not because they're too lazy to remove it.
You talk because you love that ballista boost and you know how bad you may become if you don't use it.
I've literally played along the best demons (and I am decent myself now) and they can't do almost anything against crazy ballista boosters, like some of you. If you use ballista boosting, the game is highly unbalanced, and you're happy with it, because it's unbalanced but in your favour. Some of you use 2 boosts and are on the other side of the arena immediately. There's no way to escape. It's impossible to play like that. So, sure, I will dodge any known crazy ballista booster, i.e. someone that keeps using it.
Also note that Id Sofware removed the support for Doom Eternal a long time ago and DE uses a different engine than Doom 2016.
this 'bug' or whatever became a feature a long time ago. just like how the bug with the marauder's wolf spawning was kept in the game after the community voted for it to stay.
would you be okay with ballista boosting as the slayer if the game gave a dedicated tutorial on how to do it? you still haven't answered me.

It has been a while since I played demon but there were games with and against the kind of grinders who post youtube videos of no-UI nightmare runs and private battlemode matches that make the old friday night fights look slow.
And i've seen those grinder demons get killed 20 seconds into the round by comparable slayers and ultimately pull out a win in tightly contested games.
Ballista boosting is just a basic movement tech long before you hit that level, it's not going to win you anything in of itself.
The game has ♥♥♥♥ tier balance because half the demons are completely nonviable and the rest require hours upon hours of practice with a teammate to be anything more then fodder with. Ballista boost plays as much of a role in the slayer victory as quickswapping or single dashing does, it's literal barebones tech. The reason WHY Battlemode 2.0 is a nightmare of balance is do to a fundamental issue with the demon design philosophy. Though you would've known that if you actually bothered to read the last time I typed something longwinded to you.
If you really think there's "no way to escape" Ballista boosting then I can only assume that you've literally never considered the act of using vertical movement, or gamesense, for that matter.
At this point, I'm genuinely intrigued, I need to see your demon gameplay, record some pubs next time you're in em and send them here.
Have you ever played the actual normal game? I've never seen you in one year (I don't recognize your nickname), but I assume you did before I came along. If you're so good, come and play the normal game and show me you're actually that good. Otherwise, feel free to stay in the mod world, but don't come and talk about the normal game when you only play with mods, because you don't know what you're talking about. I couldn't care less about mods. I will never use them.
