u wot
And '90s Doom games were like 3-4 hours long. (True, they had usermaps, but 99% of '90s user-made content was horrendous garbage, and the developers certainly didn't consider user-made content when settling for that length.)
doom 1, 4 hours
doom 2, 7 hours
doom 64, 7 hours
doom 3, 11 hours
doom 16, 11 hours
doom eternal, 14 hours
and eternal with dlcs nets you at least 25 hours on the first playthroughs
Then you should be very impressed with how "finished" Eternal's campaign is.
And complaining about a game having DLC stopped being interesting about 15 years ago.
Doom eternal mixes its fps gameplay with a lot of other mechanics then just aim and shoot. Its why i like it so much. Almost every level brings up the difficulty while giving you something new into your arsenal that you can learn into your rotation. Last couple of levels you are fully geared and you can really unleash everything to rip and tear. I never got bored when playing the campaign.
The dlc on the other hand can be a prime example what happens if you ( just ad levels for the sake of it ) make a game to long and run out of good ideas. I'm kinda glad there was nothing like these levels and enemies in the main campaign.
If you want to play with more with your full gear, you can always play the master levels. They are perfect if you want more doom and a challenge.
Also the game has a good lenght if you want to go for the ultra nightmare difficulty run.
You finished the main game, and it ends exactly the same way as Doom 2 did, how is that unfinished?
D:E is a textbook case of cascading failures.
