Newest update broke glory kills?

Am I the only one that started encountering a ton of issues with glory kills? Everyone knows the glitch where you're going for a glory kill on a staggered enemy and instead of transitioning into the animation, you blood punch it and kill it. Yeah, since I reinstalled the game a few days ago, this ♥♥♥♥ happens constantly, like 5 times more often than it used to. What the hell?

idk, there's a new "season" every few months, before the newest one it was working fine

no there isn't, this game isn't live service and there are no seasons and it's been out of support for seven months now

it automatically cycles challenges, it's not a "season", this isn't live service, it's not actively supported

this game hasn't had changes in code for over 200 days, the issue is on your end

I'm 90% sure it happens because the Blood Punch leap has a farther activation range than glory kills do. If you're at the extreme edge of glory kill distance then the Slayer will sometimes leap forward and blood punch instead. If for some reason the game decides you can't glory kill it will usually fall back to BP, but that's the most common reason.

Blood punch is very strong and it'll at least stun everything around you and give health, but it's very annoying indeed. All of this could have probably been avoided if they gave punch its own key separate from glory kills/interact, but not even mods have done yet it so what the hell do I know.
