Absolutely Stuck for a solution *WONT LAUNCH*
I know this is an issue for many people, but i'm at the point of tearing my hair out!

The game simply will not launch, *PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION*

I've disabled every overlay! From Steam To nVidia and any Capture devices, everything that could possibly mess with rendering.

I've forced Overlays and inputs off from steam.

I've run both The EXE for IDtechlauncher and DOOMS executable as Admin

I've checked the Drivers for GPU are up to date (they are)

NOTHING, literally NOTHING works.

and yes my system requirements are well in spec.

Та же херня, дружище, та же херня. И нигде нет решения. Вместо конкурсов они б лучше баги исправляли. Козлы.

Something has gone wrong, I have 63 hrs play time on this game and now it won't launch.

The ID Tech Launcher runs, sits in the tray and then nothing happens, no errors nothing.

If I try to stop the game in Steam, nothing happens, I have to force quit the launcher using Task Manager, WTF happened!?!?

What version of the Nvidia drivers?
Early 450s didn't start for me, but 451.67 works fine.

I was having this issue and I found that forcing the display mode to windowed borderless allowed me to play the game. I was able to force this within the custom settings panel in the geforce experience app. Might be worth trying?

Maybe this can help↓:catpaw:
Tried After entering the black screen.
ctrl+alt+delete >> Esc
Click below.
Enter the game again.

Okay, I got it working, others might not need to do all of this, but it's what I did, hope it works for others.

1) I had uninstalled and reinstalled DOOM Eternal (not entirely sure I needed to do this) and checked game file integrity afterwards, just in case

2) Disabled Steam Overlay

3) Set DOOM Eternal's launch options to +r_physicalDeviceIndex 0
I only have 1 GPU and my Intel onboard video drivers were never installed, so I probably could've skipped this step, but it's here for completeness.

4) Installed DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) libraries listed here:

https://help.bethesda.net/app/answers/detail/a_id/49839/~/what-can-i-do-if-doom-eternal-is-crashing-on-pc%3F

5) Also installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

6) Tried running DOOM 2016 just to see if it there was an issue with that too (it ran fine)

At this point DOOM Eternal still wouldn't run from Steam, but I could run it directly from:
SteamApps\common\DOOMEternal\DOOMEternalx64vk.exe

7) Clean installed this nVidia (I have an nVidia RTX 2070) driver version: 442.74 (the version number listed in the help.bethesda.net link above)

8) SUCCESS, DOOM Eternal will run from Steam but IDTechLauncher tells me:

"Updated drivers are required.
Installed: 442.74. Required: 445.75 or newer

Found GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070

Would you like to update your graphics drivers? (Selecting "Yes" will open the driver download page for your GPU vendor)"

I then have the option to either go download or play. If I select play, DOOM Eternal launches as it should.

I'm going to try the 445.75 nVidia drivers as IDTechLauncher suggests, if that doesn't work, I'll keep rolling back until I find the driver version that does, or keep going forward in driver version until I find the one that doesn't.

(All driver search: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx)

Hope that helps!

nVidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 446.14 is the latest driver that I can use before DOOM Eternal no longer launches.
