The Eternal chainsaw doesn't "need" fuel you know.

It's just a nice to have!

Maybe next Single Player Quake is made by Machine Games?

They use id-tech as well and there was a "vague Quake 6 teaser" in their showcase last year ( Quake Champions is Quake 5 btw) :

They are also definitely dedicated Quake Fans.

They made the new expansions for the Quake 1+2 Remasters that connected the Q1+2 Universe official.
- Dimensions of the Past (Q1)
- Dimensions of the Machine (Q1)
- Call of the Machine (Q2)

Quake III already merged all universes anyway.

Machines Games is also growing in size quite a bit, recently opening a secondary studio.
So maybe Wolfenstein III and Quake 6 next from them after Indiana Jones.

One DOOM Game every four years doesn't really sound like "We are building a universe" like they said during the DOOM Eternal announcement.

Anyway, hyped for new DOOM!

I think it would be a nice consolation to have Machinegames developing "Quake 6", especially if it is closer to the setting of Quake 1 (gothic, medieval, HP Lovecraft). id Software dropped hard the ball with Quake Champions... Only issue is that Machinegames has no expertise making multiplayer games, except for the dual coop back in Wolfenstein Youngblood.
Perhaps Machinegames should make single player Campaign and id Software, the multiplayer mode of "Quake 6"?! 🤔

I think the "medieval" setting was likely misinterpreted by the leaker. It could just be set in Argent D' Nur which was already basically a society of space knights with divine power. Plenty of medieval themes of course but I don't think it's going to literally take place in the medieval times on Earth most people think of.

Meaning this entry could likely be a prequel to 2016, when the Slayer arrives to Sentinel Prime, dragged the demons with him, and began his legend there before he got sealed up the first time.

If I have to guess, I think this next Doom game would be set after the events of Eternal, where the people of Earth have regressed to the "Dark Ages" due to difficulty in rebuilding society after the demon invasion.

But if it is really medieval inspired, I guess Doom set in the middle ages prior to the events of OG Doom and the hero is one of Doom Slayer's incarnation of that time. So I guess the game would be like Heretic.
